BitBitio he/him
Spoiler In White Sand 1, Kenton gained the ability to wield two more ribbons of sand. Could this be Hemalurgic?
Bartimaeus he/him
Nope it’s not
ScarletSabre he/him
I'm fairly sure that Brandon has confirmed it was a result of Overmastery, yeah
Stark he/him
Yeah, the answer to that is definitely in Whitesand (Prose). It is not yet in the graphic novel however, so cannot confirm if it will be shown there or not. But definitely not hemalurgy.
Yata he/him
Assuming Sand Mastery could be' stolen and gifted with Hemalurgy (and I see no reason for that to be' impossible). There is no way for what happened to Kenton to be' connected to Hemalurgy. There is no Spikes or others pieces of metals involved. Anyway, Let's say only that Kenton's improved Power is something related to White Sand's magic without others planets' magics involvement
RShara she/her
It is definitely not Hemalurgy. White Sand takes place far before the events of The Final Empire, and possibly before the Lord Ruler even took the power of the Well, Hemalurgy wouldn't have been figured out yet. Weltall
Volume 2 actually provides the Prose explanation so assuming Volume 3 doesn't change any details, we pretty much know what's going on. Overmastery (using too much power, but not to the point it kills you) leaves you temporarily unable to Master but when your power returns, it's stronger than before. Kenton likens this to soldiers training until their muscles are sore in order to become stronger. It's built into the system.
