When storing weight in an ironmind, are you limited to your body? Or can you store the weight of your clothing and metalminds as well?

You're limited to your body weight. Feruchemy stores things linked to you and your Identity. Your clothes aren't part of you, not even Wayne's hat no matter how much he might claim it's an inseparable part of him. :D And we know that you can't become truly weightless with F-Iron unless you strip naked, because your clothes and metalminds would still weigh you down, so by implication you can't store the weight of your clothes or it wouldn't be an issue in the first place.

So if someone is storing weight-- Feruchemy-- Can you store enough that you can actually float like a balloon?

Brandon Sanderson

Uh, your clothing and stuff will still have weight.

Questioner

If you were, like, completely naked and just *unintelligible* your hand up a wall, you will?

Brandon Sanderson

Yes. You will-- You could float, yeah. That's-- I mean, you could get your weight so low that it's basically like being in microgravity, which is...q

Questioner

Like 99%? Like a vacuum balloon?

Brandon Sanderson

Yeah.

Could you store weight in the metalmind, then drop the metalmind and remain weightless?

No, you have to continuously be storing weight to be weightless. As soon as the storing stopped, the body weight would return to normal.

Re: metalminds, what if your metalmind was inside of your body?  I imagine that it would be possible for it to be merged into your spiritweb in such a was as to be considered part of your body.  Otherwise, where would the line be drawn?  What about prosthetic limbs, metal implants, or consumed food/drink?
