JohnGregory he/him Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Hi, people i just joined the 17th shard and i must say that I am very exited. I began reading mistborn two years ago and became obsessed instantly. I love the idea of the cosmere, its history and its overarcing story. I hope that more authors do something similar and if you know someone who does this please recommend them to me. 5
MacThorstenson he/him Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Welcome to the 17th shard! Here is your complimentary welcome package, it consists of an upvote and a cookie! How much of the cosmere have you read? 1
Archer he/him Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Welcome! Terry Pratchett's Discworld books are similar in concept, although his sense of humour was a little different from Brandon's. Still, they're excellent books to read! And twice as plentiful as Sanderson's! 1
Lanny he/him Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 @JohnGregory, have you read any other books in the Cosmere? If so what was your favorite?

Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles is another extremely awesome fantasy series. It's a trilogy, but it seems that book 3 is going to take a while. The first two are just superb.
JohnGregory he/him Posted March 21, 2018 Author Posted March 21, 2018 (edited) I have after reading mistborn I franticly scrambled through every cosmere book. I really liked both of the sel sories a lot, since i like a magic system based in symbols. Furthermore i have read alot of fantasy including kingkiller chronicles but as of yet i have not read any of terry pratchet eventhough they have been recomended alot, i am thinking of reading some while waiting for the last Wax and Wayne book.
