Theory Status Index as of WoR [Spoilers]

I finished the book last night (I'm still trembling), and as I read I watched theory after theory either click into place, or be refuted. I've only been active for a little while here, and so haven't read all the theories linked to the Stormlight Archive, but it sure has been fun tracking through them.

For the sake of those who are just digging into the depths of the Stormlight Archive, I propose using this thread as an index to those theories; perhaps with a brief summary and a proved, disproved, or RAFO status.

Some theories have been very explicitly confirmed or denied in the book, some have been more subtle. I like the idea of this thread being a place where the theories that future readers won't even wrestle with (since they'll just immediately start the next book) can have their history and the homework and speculation that went on in them preserved, instead of being buried in the forums.

Discussions regarding theories should take place on their specific boards. This is just an index.

It will work best if you add your espoused theories as then you can edit their status yourself, but I will do my best to begin curating them from the boards.

[Mods, feel free to correct or redirect this if something like this already exists... this would perhaps be more appropriate in the general Stormlight Archive forum?]

Well there are quite a few listed in the "I told you so" threads (one, two).

Szeth has an Honorblade

Summary: Honorblades bestow surgebinding on their wielders without the need for a spren. Szeth has one such.

Status: Confirmed

-Related: Szeth gets his windrunner abilities from his Shardblade

Shardblades are corrupted

Summary: Odium or some other influence "tainted" or otherwise did something to Shardblades, or perhaps they were always corrupted.

Status: Iffy, depending on interpretation of the original theory. They're the corpses of murdered bond-spren, but not really "corrupted" in any way. They don't appear to be linked directly to the Thrill, for one.

Urithiru is located on the main continental land mass of Roshar to the west of Alethela in the physical realm.

Summary: See above. ;)

Status: Confirmed, it's in the mountains west of Alethala.

The parshendi killed Gavilar because "The evil sphere of doom" was a corrupted spren that could create a "voidbringer parshendi form".

Summary: See above (and wow was that a good/accurate call)

Status: Likely.

----

It's a fine line which one's to port over here because several weren't really "theories", per se, but just predictions. Someone else can feel free to grab more of them.

We don't know for sure the Sphere was involved in the awaken their gods plot do we?

Kurk, could you add links to the original posts regarding the above theories/predictions?

I'm good with putting predictions in here too, as long as they've got an original post to link to.

Thanks!

You're right: not for sure. I thought that was the implication of Amaram's thoughts about Gavilar's plan, Eshonai's thoughts about Gavilar's plan, and this WoB from Brandon (he was likely talking about Navani's notebook and how it talks about capturing spren) pretty much nail it down as containing a spren of some type. I agree that I shouldn't have said it was flat-out confirmed though. I'll edit it.

@aheerema

Sorry, I suppose I was a tad lazy there. Those are all from the "I told you so" thread I linked to at the beginning of my post. Some of them have theories behind them, some don't, but mostly they're just people "calling" how things are, rather than putting forth arguments and evidence and whatnot.
