Blazenella he/him
SO! This has 100% been seen before, and 99% sure it's been discussed, HOWEVER! Aon Ashe means Light/Illumination Ash is a nickname for the Herald of the Lightweavers, who use light/illumination COINCIDENCE!?! I THINK NOT! Ash also talks about Jezrien being her father? Are they from Sel? Taln is talked about as a person who shouldn't have been a Herald, so are they all Elantrians/Selish except him? I know people from Sel have lighter skin/bigger eyes than Rosharans, but still Thoughts?
Leyrann
I mean, I can't think of any reason why this would not be the case, but isn't this a bit of a flimsy theory?
RShara she/her
Brandon's consistently RAFO'd whether the Heralds are native to Roshar or not. That having been said, I don't think he'd want people as important as the Heralds to be from another Cosmere planet, since that would bring other planets a bit more to the forefront than he's said he's wanted until he does the over-arching series. Also, Roshar is apparently a very busy Cosmere Crossroads (What a great location for a Shadesmar(t)!), with multiple groups of people from various corners of the Cosmere so it wouldn't be surprising for their names and some traditions to have carried over from other planets. Knight Oblivion
I would highly doubt that Ash is Aonic. She could potentially be from the Rose Empire, we don't know where the Herald's are from, but her appearance doesn't sound like somebody from Arelon or Teod. StormingTexan he/him
All the Heralds are from the same place per WoB. Also as far as linguistic similarities there is a WoB on this. I know the question references Nalthis but he says Cosmere as well. Quote llwvyn My question is in regards to the writing system. In Warbreaker, when Siri is teaching Susebron to read, she mentions the letter "shash," which we now know better as a glyph from [The Way of Kings]. so onto the questions: Are the two writing systems related, or is this a chance coincidence of names? If they are related, did they stem from the same source? (i.e., do the people of Nalthis and Roshar both descend from a more ancient group of people?) If I haven't gotten a RAFO yet, did the separation from these other people create the legends of being cast out of the Tranquiline Halls? Brandon Sanderson There are interesting connections around the cosmere between linguistics and some cultures. Though different groups of humans were created on different planets, the Shards all share a single point of origin. However, the Tranquiline Halls legends are not related to a Nalthis/Roshar connection. Also notice he says Shards share a single point or origin? There is a form of Lightweaving on Yolen where they all originate from as well.
Yezrien
Yes, the many linguistic connections between Sel, Nalthis, and Roshar can probably all be attributed to a root language from Yolen. We don't see much of this on Scadrial because its people were created there, and have no cultural connection other worlds (except maybe the Terris).
