Mulk he/him Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 honestly, I think the Honorblade is eventually going back to Jezrien. He'll come for it, or the stone shamans will come for it and give it to him, or Dalinar will meet him when he finally meets Ishar (isn't he the Herald attached to the Bondsmiths?) or something along those lines. It might wind up with someone else for a bit in the interim but I'm pretty sure that's where it is going. 3

He's the Kholin highprince. My guess is a different Kholin who is currently twiddling his thumbs but has expressed interest in heading to Kholinar: Elhokar. Yea after WoR I assumed/hoped Adolin, but the scene where Elhokar was talking with Dalniar about retaking Kholinar really set up in my mind Elhokar getting the blade. Giving him stormlight would also help him not worry about assassinations, while unknowingly opening him up for attack by the Stone Shamans trying to recover the blade.
+ElephantEarwax he/him Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I feel like it could be offered to Zahel. He is who trained Adolin, and currently training Renarin. I have two thoughts for Zahel answering, he could refuse because he already has enough going for him, or He could take ti and use it to help him find Nightblood. 1
Duke of Lizards she/her Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 This could be a very dumb question, but what happens if someone is in possession of an Honorblade during a Desolation? I've always operated under the assumption that these are just powerful relics that grant surgebinding abilities to the user. This doesn't mean that the user takes on the responsibility of upholding the oathpact that the original Herald was bound to, right? It's just a tool, not a part of the pact, right? 1

There have been hints that it's more than that. Most recently, we got this in ch. 16: Quote What will you do with it? the Stormfather asked as Dalinar entered the empty corridors. It is a weapon beyond parallel. The gift of a god. With it, you would be a Windrunner unoathed. And more. More that men do not understand, and cannot. Like a Herald, nearly. The last 3 sentences seem to indicate it can do quite a bit more than just grant the ability to surgebind with Gravitation and Adhesion. 2

I really want Zahel to get it but I wonder how big a player he will be in the first five books. *Warbreaker Spoilers* Spoiler If Vasher gets the Honor blade we have to get a Szeth with Nightblood vs Vasher with Szeths old blade. 1

At the same time we have a WOB saying that the heralds would sometimes loan out their Honorblade s during pat desolation. I think it was from Reddit, but I am having trouble finding now. 2
