I'll try to find the WoB, but there's one that says you could become an Elantrian via hemalurgy, but it would take multiple spikes.

I'm guessing one of those spikes would have to be the connection to Arelon due to the nature of being Elantrian.

So I give it a tentative yes.

Edit: got it.

Could you spike Elantrian-ness? Like, could you Hemalurgically spike Elantrian-ness?

BRANDON SANDERSON

Theoretically, yes.

MAIL-MI

Could you out of a Reod Elantrian? The zombie ones?

BRANDON SANDERSON

Um, yes you could.

MAIL-MI

You could?

BRANDON SANDERSON

So what you would be spiking there is their connection to... to the planet, first. That's gonna be the big important thing. So you're going to overwrite your connection. Um, and then you're going to.... it's going to be a complicated process because you're going to have to spike the actual ability to have been transformed, that's gonna be harder.

MAIL-MI

Okay.

BRANDON SANDERSON

Does that make sense?

MAIL-MI

Yeah, so it's gonna take two spikes.

BRANDON SANDERSON

It's gonna take two spikes.

MAIL-MI

Alright.

BRANDON SANDERSON

And you gonna have to get the right connection to the right place. Let's say you spike somebody from MaiPon, and then you spike an Elantrian, you're not going to be able to use it, you're not connected to the right area.

If you can do it for AonDor, you should be able to do for any of the Selish Magics.

We don't know if there's a metal that steals Connection though it's probable. There is an easier way, using unkeyed Duralumin medalions (metalminds) that store "blank" Connection one is able to Connect to the land they currently reside in. It was used in BoM mostly as translation device, though it could supposedly be used for manipulating magic as well.

Connection medallions might be a short-term workaround but you'd still need to do whatever steps are required for Initiation into a given magic system in order to get the magic and really screwy things might happen if you stop using the medallion and are no longer connected to the region.

We don't know what metal might steal Connection but since Brandon has said it's possible we know one or more of them can do this, not counting atium which can by definition. And we have a number of metals with no currently known Hemalurgic property, even before you start looking into godmetal alloys.

That may be, I just wanted to propose something that wouldn't involve killing anyone. But that makes me think - is Hoid spiked? He's holding Breaths, came to Roshar for something, is an Allomancer and who knows what more.

Per Word of Brandon, Hoid isn't spiked. In another WoB he says that while hemalurgy is the easiest way to get other powers, Hoid would prefer to do things the hard way because he doesn't want to be opened up to Shardic influence.

Meaning, with as few as one spike and Ruin/Harmony can spy on him and whisper to him, and at some point, enough spikes would enable direct "interference". Right?

A Marsh-style pin cushion of a Hemlurgically enhanced pawn of Ruin would be pretty powerful on Sel. He (or she) could be spiked to collect all the Dor based powers. Heck, just send Marsh himself. Two spikes for each power, eh, the man had like 22 spikes, what's a few more? They don't have to be giant railroad spike sized thingies, that was just for intimidation, just a sliver of metal would do the trick.
