TheShogun he/him Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) I was waiting for the train today when I noticed that the man waiting beside me was reading Mistborn: The Well of Ascension. So I, of course, whipped out my own copy of Mistborn: The Well of Ascension (it was really handy that I had it on me), and we proceeded to have a chat about the book. But has anyone else met a Sanderfan in a random place? Edited February 14, 2014 by TheShogun
Leonardus he/him Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I wish it was so, but the chances of finding anyone that reads Brandon and that I didn't personally convert is very slim , plus from what I have seen there isn't a lot of interest in books down here in Argentina.
Green Hoodie Mistborn he/him Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) Not so far, though I have introduced him to plenty of people!! I wish I had people to sit and theorize with irl, so much faster than typing... Edited February 14, 2014 by Green Hoodie Mistborn
+Quitecontrary she/her Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Six months after I left my previous job, I found out that one of my former officemates was one, liking a post I made on Facebook about WoT and asking me about my take on Sanderson's ending. I also saw a Mistborn book held by a teacher in a talk I conducted...and so I proceeded to chat with that man after the conference.
DbuckiMcg he/him Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I ran into someone reading Towers of Midnight while we were waiting to be seated at a restaurant. I couldn't resist asking the guy how he liked the series. I then proceeded to dish out the advice that Brandon also wrote the Mistborn series and that if you were the type of person to be sitting at a bar on a Friday night reading ToM it was a series you would enjoy
Iredomi Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 There have been three instances I've met people who have read and loved Sanderson. First my English lecturer who is one of the awesomest people I've ever met though I've never really talked to her personally. Secondly my English tutor who I used to discuss wheel of time and realmatics with and finally this guy from the US in my English class who had read mistborn. So it seemed there were a lot Brandon fans in my English course.
Elbereth she/her Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I've never met anyone who has known of the Sanderson books. I have met two who have read some of WoT. I wish there were some, but...

I visited Argentina last year and brought a couple of Sanderson books with me (Rithmatist and SteelHeart) does that count? Unfortunately the only time I spent in Buenos Aires was spent traveling between the two airports and waiting for my flights so we probably didn't have much chance of meeting. The rest of the time I spent more towards the south of the country. Edited February 14, 2014 by bschnebs
Cromptj he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I've never met anyone who I hadn't already converted. Does anyone know if there is a large fan base in the UK? I'm guessing yes.
