Szeth's Abilities Going Into Oathbringer

Question about Szeth's abilities going into Oathbringer:  How does he still have access to the Gravitation surge?  We (the reader) see him flying/falling in Edgedancer.  Since he no longer has Jezrien's honorblade and does not have a bond with a spren, how is he accessing the surges?  Does it have something to do with Nightblood?  Or how Nale resurrected him?  Or maybe even the cognitive shadow/aftereffect he has going on?

Isn't Edgedancer before the end of WoR, and the showdown with Kaladin?

Hmm. I don't think he flies in Edgedancer. The others tell him to, kind of implying that he should be able to, but I don't think we know he can. Brandon has indicated he can't take in Stormlight so that indicates he can't. Brandon has said that Nightblood may give powers on Roshar when bonded, but not the Surgebinding ones we're familiar with. 

Szeth was healed with a fabrial that uses the progression (healing) surge. 

And his lag thing is because the fabrial didn't quite reattach his soul to his body properly.

No.  In Edgedancer Szeth has Nightblood and is with the Skybreakers.

Interesting.  I attributed Szeth not specifically flying as a choice, but it makes sense that it's due to lack of ability.   Thanks for the clarification!

It would be interesting if Szeth hides the fact that he can't use surges from the other Skybreakers.

Anyway, Szeth will probably find a way to wield Nightblood properly. I doubt Nale would have given it to him otherwise. So that is probably one ability he has/will get in Oathbringer.

If there's a spoiler board for a story, topics directly relating to that content are supposed to start on the spoiler board. 

As far as I understand it, as long as the edgedancer board exists, all content that's a spoiler for that story is supposed to be in spoiler tags if posted outside the board... I'm not a mod, I'm not 100% on the rules. I don't even know how much longer that board will be around.
