The Lhurgoyf Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 (edited) No idea how to start this off, so... hi. Sanderfan from the UK, first introduced to his work from his Infinity Blade novellas. From there I sort of spiraled out of control and finished the entire Cosmere and Reckoners in the span of one and a half months, to the considerable detriment of my social life. Now that that's finished, well, here I am. My other interests in literature are the works of Wildbow (finished Worm, just started Pact) and V.E Schwab. Outside of literature, I am the stereotypical fantasy nerd; my idea of a good time is locking myself away in my room to learn basic programming. I can recite fictional family trees better than my own, I know the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition rulebook better than the laws of my school and country, and I am capable of spending an entire day doing nothing but sorting my collection of Magic: The Gathering cards. When I have attained the perfect level of social isolation, typically at 1 AM on a Monday morning, I enjoy writing. My writing is typically in the form of epic fantasy which I never finish, though I've been forcing myself to do more short stories based on the recommendations of the literature teacher. I tend to keep a close circle of few friends, none of whom (alas) share my love for Sanderson. I lent one of them my copy of Final Empire, and he returned it a month later less than a hundred pages in, soaked in water with the middle portions falling out. One of the others refuses to take up any of my recommendations until I watch the original Star Wars trilogy (I apologize for the blasphemy). So... yeah. Lhurgoyf out. Merrickz he/him Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Welcome fellow UK Sanderfan, Have a Cookie, They're delicious. Ignore any weird voices telling you to kill after eating one. P.S. Have an upvote. 1
StrikerEZ he/him Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Hey, welcome to the Shard! Have an upvote and another spiked delicious cookie! Spoiler Don't mind the voices or the sudden urge to kill everyone, that's normal. Also, that sucks about your Mistborn book. I don't own very many books, so that kind of stuff doesn't usually happen to me, but I can imagine that sucks. Which Cosmere book is your favorite? 1

I'd have to say the Way of Kings, for making me realize just how far I had to go before I could do good worldbuilding and character development. With regards to the damaged copy... I wept, I mourned, I donated my copy to the library (who accepted it, for reasons I cannot comprehend), then moved on and bought another. Faithless, I know. And you say these symptoms are... normal? Eh, doesn't feel that different. i'll take your word for it. 2
Tesh Any pronouns Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 (edited) YOU ATE THE COOKIE?! You can never know what is in them. I didn't even get a chance to offer you a slice of Rock's pie. And about your Mistborn book, that's why I don't let people borrow my books. One I let some one use one, and I got it back about two moths later with the cover all bent up. I am VERY picky about that sort of thing. Have an upvote and a slice of pie. Spoiler Symptoms may include, belief that one is a windrunner, a cow, and random oubursts of giggles.
