Shard Blades, the source of

I just had a quick thought. We have WoB somewhere that Andonalsium shattered on Roshar. Potentially, just theory. What if each shard blade and the honor blades are basically splinters of that event, basically what filled the gap between the actual Shards that are held by Hoid's lot the Shardholders. We know that Fabrials are a new invention and Shard blades and Fabrial like things were more mysticism rather than magitech of Fabrials.The Honor Blades likewise could be a fusion of splinters of honor and normal shard blades made from Andonalsium's... blood?

 

Yeah its a bit muddled but it just hit me just now.

Also, shardblades are heavily implied to have been created with the radiants by the action of spren.

Think you have got turned around somewhere...

 

IIRC WoB says that Adonalsium visited Roshar (and left some spren there) but was not shattered there.

 

I do not think it has ever been officially confirmed where Adonalsium was shattered, but I would guess it was on Yolen.

 

I am sure more knowledgeable peeps can correct me if I am wrong.

 

If only I can remember the correct summoning spell for @hoser... he would be able to bring up the quote in a jiffy.

Ah nevermind I was remembering an older thread where I was pondering if Yolen became Roshar. Your right Adonalsium visited it but we don't know where It shattered.

At one point, all of them were on Roshar, which is technically true.

 

Q: How many shards have invested their power on Roshar?

A: Technically, all of them did.

 I'd say its a good possibility that Adonalsium shattered on Roshar.

A: They are not, because they have not attained self-awareness.  But, the Seons are self-aware.  So, any piece, for instance there were some spren on Roshar before Honor and Cultivation got there.  Those were already splinters of Adonalsium where he had left power which attained sentience on its own.  So, it can be intentional is what I am saying, does that make sense?  You have seen other splinters.

 

Wetlander: Are the highstorms related to the splintering of Honor? (Brandon spoke over the word Honor in starting his response)

 

A: The highstorms are more related to the mist from Mistborn which terminology we have not discussed yet. (also affirmed the well as being similar).  You have seen splinters quite a bit on various planets.

Because of the wording, I am inclined to think it unlikely that Adonalsium shattered on Roshar.  Brandon said that Adonalsium left power on Roshar.  This strongly suggests to me that Adonalsium made some sort of investment and then bailed for his next destination.

From those quotes, I would guess that the storm father and night watcher (I forget which night ___ is the one who gives boons so maybe it is night mother) are spren formed by Adonalsium.

It's possible. I personally am of the belief that the humans aren't endemic to Roshar but were instead brought or banished there sometime in the past based on their beliefs about the tranquiline halls and that the other life on the planet is so different from humans.

So if human life was put on Roshar, it would explain the discrepancies between the other life on Roshar and the humans. Given what Brandon and the others have said on Writing Excuses, I think that this is pretty much given.
