soulcastJam he/him
Do we know where the honor blades were left by the heralds? I was under the impression that they were on a different world, so how did the Shin recover the blades? Are they world-hoppers? Is there a perpendicularity in west that only they have access to? Is it made of stone? =) Edited April 11, 2017 by soulcastJam
Pagerunner he/him
Why do you think it was on a different world? There were Thunderclasts and Radiants in the WoK Prelude; I think it was most definitely somewhere on Roshar.
The One Who Connects he/him
Popular opinion is that the Circle of Blades were at the center (or at least near the center) of modern day Shinovar. I myself have even speculated that they made their first village/temple after the Desolation at that exact spot. It makes more sense that the Blades were left near where the Shin set up their villages, because anywhere else would require some sort of LotR-esque quest to get them. There was also a WoB where Brandon said that "Historically, they were with the Shin." Granted, that one is getting a bit old so asking for an updated clarification isn't entirely unwarranted. Relevent WoB: Quote INTERVIEW: Mar 29th, 2014 WOR Signing Report - Herowannabe (Verbatim) QUESTION Truthless are pretty rare in Shin society? BRANDON SANDERSON Yes. QUESTION How did they come by the Dawnshard that Szeth got? BRANDON SANDERSON They historically kept all of them. QUESTION Does that have anything to do why they think stone is sacred? BRANDON SANDERSON You will find out more about that as time progresses TAGS truthless, shin, szeth, honorblade, stone shamanism,
Tsidqiyah he/him
Ummm Szeth has an Honorblade not a dawnshard ... am I missing something?

I think we attribute that to the quirks of in-person discussions. Like when people ask about Roshar, and Brandon responds talking about Scadrial. It's possible that Dawnshards are actually Honorblades, and we sneakily got it confirmed. It's also possible that this was a slip of the tongue, but Brandon knew what the question asker meant to say. I wouldn't read too much into it.
Zeldan he/him
Either Brandon made a mistake, or he gave away a very interesting detail...Szeth might have a Dawnshard...(I'm leaning towards a mistake, although this would be really interesting if it's true)
The One Who Connects he/him
I would like to point out that the WoB has a footnote mentioning this discrepancy: Quote Question: How did Szeth come by the Dawnshard(I think he and Brandon meant honorblade?) that Szeth got? Given that Szeth's weapon has been confirmed to be an Honorblade, I think Pagerunner is correct and this is Brandon assuming what the asker meant and answering accordingly. He has had a misstep doing just that before. Someone asked him about Kaladin having Szeth's Honorblade, Brandon assumed we meant Taln's, and said that Kal did not have it. It was clarified, and we know that Kal does in fact have Szeth's Blade. Edited April 11, 2017 by The One Who Connects Edit 6: Rewrote entire post from the ground up, Site doesn't like brackets..
