Itchy Savant he/him Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Hasn't it been heavily hinted That the voices szeth hears are from one of the unmade/Odium's influence?

Secondly, we have a WoB (may be a tad older/Nope, April of '16) that anyone who did the things he did would have a similar effect, which pulls even further away from the Oathstone and Odium. Now that I've read the WoB, the plot thickens again: "What we would call magical may not be considered magical in the Cosmere, but it depends on your definition of magic." This statement messes with any and all interpretations about the origin of his screams. ...
Itchy Savant he/him Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Wait, so it isn't one of the unmade? And by "anyone who did the things he did" is he talking the whole Cosmere or just on Roshar? Because if it is just on Roshar, my money is on the unmade

Because if it is just on Roshar, my money is on the unmade In the WoB I linked, which Oversleep quoted, Brandon goes broader than just Roshar Quote Would Szeth if he were on our planet and have done those things would he hear those screams, probably not, but would someone else in the Cosmere who had gone through what he had gone through hear those screams, yes. Secondly, per this WoB, the best lead on the "unmade theory" is shot down. Quote Is there some kind of connection between Szeth and Yelig-nar, the Unmade? Brandon Sanderson (Paraphrased) Hmm... Szeth has no more of a connection with Yelig-nar than anyone else does. For reference: Yelig-nar, called Blightwind, was one that could speak like a man, though often his voice was accompanied by the wails of those he consumed. — Traxil, line 33 - Jasnah's notebook[1] Other Unmade candidates of Moelach (Death Rattles) and Nergaoul (The Thrill) are out as well, since they are operating in Alethkar/Shattered Plains, while Szeth still has the screams on the other side of Roshar while carrying out Taravangian's hit list.
Itchy Savant he/him Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Hmmm, I really liked the Yelig-Nar theory, sad to see it busted. Interesting to learn that it is all through the Cosmere. I have a feeling that perhaps that means it wont be answered for a while to come. Here is hoping Szeth gets to be a world hopper and that we will see him in future books Era 2 Mistborn Spoiler I need a Kelsier and Szeth Battle scene right this minute.

Spoiler It's probably going to be Mistborn Era 4, and I'm pretty sure neither of them is going to be alive at that point.

Are you really implying that Spoiler the Survivor, who not only survived his own death but also came back from dead, who is now a Full Compounder with ability to Compound age, will not make it to the Fourth Era? If we won't get Kelsier and Marsh in space, I'm starting a riot. Hemalurgic brothers have to go on!

Yeah, Kel will definitely make it that far. I would be surprised if Marsh does though since I'm thinking it's at least a millennium away and that's approaching the limit of feruchemy.

The epigraph of which is as follows: We are close now. Oddly, this high in the mountains, we seem to finally be free from the oppressive touch of the Deepness. It has been quite a while since I knew what that was like. The lake that Fedik discovered is below us now - I can see it from the ledge. It looks even more eerie from up here, with its glassy - almost metallic - sheen. I almost wish I had let him take a sample of its waters. Perhaps his interest was what angered the mist creature that follows us. Perhaps...that was why it decided to attack him, stabbing him with its invisible knife. Strangely, the attack comforted me. At least I know that since another has seen it. That means I'm not mad. Wait, wasn't this a description of Preservation's shardpool? The Well of Ascension? My Mistborn knowledge is a bit shaky, since it's been a while since I read it, but I don't think it belongs to Ruin/Ati.
Spoolofwhool Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 The Well of Ascension was in a cave. That was a different pool.
