I know this subject has been discussed before, but I have a particular ability that no one seems to have mentioned relating to the speed of light- mass. So if wax stored ALL his weight at once, what would happen? Would he no longer be a body of mass? Could he then theoretically reach faster than light speeds? I'm relying on that he's storing mass instead of weight, because I don't have the book in front of me. At the very least, this would make it a lot easier to get a rocket off the ground and to make the acceleration greater.

Particles that have no mass move at the speed of light. Not faster than it but you're still certainly right about it being a headstart. I believe there's a WoB saying you can't store all your weight but I can't find it. I don't believe you can simply because the physics would get so funky (weightless particles not only move at the speed of light, but they have no relative time ie a photon traveling for a billion years over a billion light years has actually had zero time passed from its perspective). It's probably a Higgs field interaction that governs this stuff but I don't think Brandon will mess with it to the point of having weightless, timeless, speed-of-lighty heroes :)

But will weight manipulation be used to make extremely fast travel easier? damnation right it will!

Is a feruchemist's mass affected? I thought it was some funky thing where it only affected weight. Anyway, there is also the problem that even if you do manage to store all of your weight, you still have the weight of your metal minds, which would keep you from being totally weightless.

You can't do 100% unfortunately, you're low end bounded in real Feruchemy

The low end is usually limited by health concerns though, not by the hardcoded rule of the magic. As long as the physics that Brandon is using for Ironminds don't have any significant health risks, then Wax could in fact store all of his weight (which is the hardcoded low end: as much as you presently have)
Additionally, Sazed stored enough in WoA that he appeared to "float down," which would be a rather large reduction in its own right.

It's changing your effective mass, not how gravity is affecting you.

Also excellent point. It is still impossible to go to zero since you still have the weight of your metalminds. Although, this does make me wonder. You can't store jewelry and the like, but can you store the mass of piercings or metals you've swallowed? If so, then it could be theoretically possible.

But guys, you don't have to have your metal minds be piercings. You don't even have to float naked. You just have to be boyant enough to float in the air with your gear. If you were truly going completely stored, you would shoot up into the sky. Air has weight. You just need to have a net boyancy more than the boyancy of air.

Per Alloy of Law with Wax there are two times, on page 117 and 208 (kindle edition) that he basically puts almost all his weight into his metalmind:

Quote

In a heartbeat, Waxillium stopped tapping his metalmind and started filling it instead, decreasing his weight to almost nothing. He Pushed on the broken harp behind, and a simultaneous quick Push against the nails in the floor kept him high. The result was that he soared across the room in a graceful arc,

Also relevant I think on page 169:

<he reduced to> half his normal weight. Any more than that and it became difficult to walk normally, even with clothing and guns weighing him down.

And from page 30, basically the same/similar trick that Sazed pulled:

his weight to a fraction of normal as he fell down the other side. He landed softly.

Shadows of Self relevant quotes:

He was also a Feruchemist, and could use his metalminds to reduce his weight far more than he was doing now, shaving it down until he practically floated.

If he decreased his weight while in motion, he got a little burst of speed. He didn’t know why.

Couldn't find anything really relevant in Bands of Mourning.
