We know that some of Hoid's interest in Scadrial is because they're the closest to developing instant noodles. Instant noodles can be associated with '1337' culture and nerd culture and we know Scadrial is going to develop its own nerd culture by Era 3. Therefore Hoid is in some way connected to 1337ness.
