Ward Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 So for the first time ever, I'm going to be able to attend a signing. I've already got Arcanum Unbounded pre-ordered on Amazon. My question: is it bad manners to take that Amazon copy to the signing? Should I instead cancel that and pay a bit more for the in-store copy?
WeiryWriter he/him Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 It really depends on the store hosting the signing. Sometimes they require you to buy the book from them to get into the signing. So I would check the details for the event you plan on attending. Most of the time it should be fine, though if you don't buy the book from the store it is generally considered to be polite to buy something else while you are there, as a sign of support. 1
Sunbird she/her Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 What WW said. I've been to a few signings where places in the signing line have been reserved for people who purchased the featured book from the hosting bookstore. So yeah, check with the venue to make sure.
