Yata he/him Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I was checking on Reddit when I found a WoB of a real Interesting question, the answer was a RAFO but it may be useful to avoid the same question in the future: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormlight_Archive/comments/51u8qu/oathbringer_spoilers_stormlight_three_update_4/d8u49pu?context=3 Quote Q: A question I've been thinking about recently: In Warbreaker we see Nightblood's consciousness shift dramatically when he is actively consuming investiture. Does the Shardic flavor of that investiture (Breath vs Stormlight or Preservation Mist vs Ruin Mist) influence how his mind functions in that state? A: RAFO, actually. Good question. 2
manukos he/him Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 (edited) so you are basicaly saying that for some reason when consuming the "body " or a purer essence of a shard's investiture your personality leans toward the essense of the shard it makes sense. there are some examples that come to mind , other than nightblood and breath , atium is supposed to make people into efficient killers that "ruin" Edited October 16, 2016 by harambe forgot a space
ParadoxicalZen he/him Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 So Night blood...desires endowment of death onto people when consuming Breath? Humour aside, it would make sense if NB consumed a substantial amount fairly quickly
Yata he/him Posted October 16, 2016 Author Posted October 16, 2016 actually @harambe I was simply spreading the WoB. I have no precise idea about who to take his question. I am waiting for an year to see how the Nightblood's leak would be when It feeds of other kind of Investiture (for example Stormlight). But I never considerate how the Investiture's Mandate would influence our favorite EvilDestroyer. Until now I was just about the uncapacity of Nightblood to use its Mind and Power at the same time...But maybe we see it influenced by the consumed Investiture. I don't know if it is a probably option, but it is indeed an option to considerate.
Jondesu he/him Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 That could bode ill if he consumes too many voidspren.
Farnsworth Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 @Jondesu We already know that there is going to be a problem with Szeth, because Szeth thinks he is evil an Nightblood will have to kill him for that. So I think Nightblood will go through a significant change-in-nature sometime soon.

We don't really know that unless there's been a WoB I haven't seen, and I'm not entirely sure Szeth sees himself as evil. See, he at least perceives everything he did to have been forced upon him, the blame at someone else's feet. He's been used, and he knows now it was all for a lie, but it wasn't his lie. I agree that it's a danger, but it's not a fore gone conclusion to say he's definitely going to have trouble using the blade because of that.

Everything he has done has been what he was ordered to do, and his honor prevented him from stopping the madness. Surely even you can rationalize a way for adhering to your oath to not make you evil.
