No, they cut through the soul/spiritual and physical. Only Nightblood, as we've seen so far, can cut through cognitive as well.

Yes. Nightblood can theoretically destroy cognitive entities, such as shades, spren, and cognitive shadows.

Thanks for the answer! Is it known what would happen then when Nightblood clashes with Kaladin's shardblade/Syl?

According to Brandon, Nightblood is more powerful than sprenblades by magnitudes so... probably Syl wouldn't end up very well. Of course, the WoB was probably referring to dead sprenblades, which are probably weaker than living sprenblades, but I think the difference in power there isn't magnitudes, so Nightblood would still be magnitudes more powerful than Syl. To actually answer your question, no, we don't know what happens.

I would say that a Honorblade should be magnitudes more powerful than Syl too. So I don't think Nightblood can cut through Syl as Syl through a human and destroy her - *in her shardblade form* (probably in her human form, she can be cut like a human can be cut by a sword).

Probably in fighting, it's blade vs blade, metal vs metal. What it's not known is how *other powers* come into play - e.g. Nighblood's "stealing" if investiture - can it "weaken" Syl, or it would just suck the stormlight out of Kaladin; will it provide Szeth with some powers, or just deny Kaladin's?

Fair point on the Honorblade. However, it is likely that an Honorblade's power is more concentrated towards empowering its user, while Nightblood's is more geared towards destructive capabilities, so a accurate comparison cannot be made. I do agree though that Nightblood and a living sprenblade would definitely contact and block each other, but Nightblood would probably start drawing investiture out of the sprenblade, meaning prolonged contact wouldn't be good. I don't think Nightblood would affect Kaladin unless it actually touched him. In the long run though, I think Nightblood would beat any sprenblade, and even short contact would have some negative effect on the spren.

Szeth won't be able to unsheath Nightblood unless he gains a way to draw in Stormlight again (I think Brandon confirmed or implied Nightblood won't grant that ability, at least not right now for Szeth), so he'll have to fight sheathed if so. I suspect that he'll still block a sprenblade, though I don't know what the sheath itself is made of or how it would fare (a crack in that could be very bad). Both Szeth and our Radiants should probably hope to avoid that fight anytime soon.

This is a little tricky...Nightblood's bond may (maybe) gift that ability. But to bond Nightblood, the Sword have to feed of you and you have to survive. This mean that for Szeth is extremely difficult to actual bond Nightblood in first place
