2.) Further, invested objects also gain resistance to pulling/pushing based on proximity to soul possibly via the soul. An example given is that A hemalurgic spike touches the blood of the person, and from there is now part of both the Spiritual Realm and the Physical Realm. This provides what Brandon termed a kind of "soul interference," based on its proximity to the soul.

Do we have anything more on this "soul proximity thing"?

I mean, is it harder to Push on the spike in person than the sum of how hard is to affect a spike and a normal metal piercing person? (spike in person > spike + in person ?)

This doesn't make sense to me. If proximity to a soul makes it hard to be affected by "magic", then wouldn't a person in general be extremely hard to affect....Since they are as close as possible to their own soul?  Pretty sure I am touching my own blood at all times.

I would assume it's harder to push on a spike in a body than a spike out of the body, and both probably harder than pushng a piercing that isn't a spike.

Remember that your blood and other physical parts of you are only really touching you physically.  Magic that connects to both your physical and spiritual aspects (remember, the spiritual realm is where your "soul" is) would have a greater and more powerful Connection to you than something only touching you physically.  Hemalurgic spikes touch your soul in a very direct way since they pierce it, and therefore would be incredibly hard to affect by magical means.  We see that with TLR's spikes that he didn't think anyone would be able to affect and didn't even imagine Vin could push away, which she only did with the literal power of a god.

So basically

Invested object (hemalurgic spike ) touching the connection to the spirit realm (blood) which is where the soul resides equals hard to push/pull

blood = physical object that acts as connection between physical and spirit realm

so,

heamlurgic spike + blood = connection to the soul, therefore hard to push/pull

which means,

myself touching my own blood doesn't mean anything because I am not an invested object?

I'm not sure I made myself clear.

Let's assume various variables of how hard it is to Push on (x).

A= spike inside the body
B= spike outside the body
C= normal metal inside the body

The question is: Is A greater than sum of B and C? (Is A > B+C ?)

ahh, I understand now. So you want to know if we can determine a level of difficulty for each of those.

so, on a scale of 1 to difficult:

A= spike inside the body = 5 difficulty
B= spike outside the body = 3 difficulty
C= normal metal inside the body = 1 difficulty

(I made those numbers up, just trying to see if I am following you).

Hmm. I would say that yes, A is probably harder than B+C in that example, but maybe by only a small degree. I don't think Brandon's quotes are quite enough to be sure on it though.

@tobar14, I don't think the blood is inherently a connection to the soul. Hemalurgy depends on it as part of that magic system, but someone just cutting a blood vessel obviously isn't going to also cut your soul. On Roshar, Shardbladea cut the soul seemingly where they intersect major nerves, or the core of a limb, but it's hard to be sure. The blood being the key is only true in Hemalurgy so far.
