gruntle
While reading kaladin´s coppermind page i came across a quote about the meaning of his name which is "born unto eternity". Could this be a foreshadowing of Kaladin´s future taking on Jezriens role and responsibilities. What do you guys and girls think?
goody153
I suspect he's gonna die or make a brave sacrifice sometime later make a big gesture of "i will protect those who cannot protect themselves" or whatever the other windrunner oaths are. Or the " born unto eternity " would mean him ending up taking up a reformed shard of honor(Mr. Sanderson said it's not impossible and stormlight is a long series) but i gravitate on him dying or ended up leading. Yeah i can totally see him taking up Jezriens responsibility and i think only Taln is the only clear ally herald that might actually do his job. Eccentric Hero
Quote It’s really based—it’s Kalak, which is the Storm—not really the Stormfather but people, y’know. Most of the names you’ll find are based off one of the Heralds in some way. So he’s KALA + DIN, Kalak and din is a suffix.” “It means ‘born unto eternity’.”— Brandon Sanderson and Isaac Stewart (Orem signing 12/12/15) Quote JamHeretic How do you pick names? Brandon Sanderson: It really varies based on the book. I'm often picking a linguistic paradigm. Alethi - there are two separate paradigms because I like linguistics to be messy. Usually based on symmetry being holy, so they'd pick names one letter off from symmetrical to avoid hubris. Also suffix - like Kaladin is Kalak (Herald) + din which is a suffix, all of them mean things, like the old Hebrew names have "born of" or "comes through". Stick that on and drop the last letter. Dalinar, Elhokar, all of those have suffixes - nar, kar.
muco
If Kaladin dies who would be the other windrunner? I remember reading a passage where Syl says she is the only one among her kind who made it to the other side or something to that effect!

Spoiler There is another Windrunner saying oaths in book 3, so he won't be alone for much longer. Now the Stormfather is bonded, the ban is most likely lifted. Sprens are going to come in large numbers. Edited August 18, 2016 by maxal
Zea mays
Whoa, whoa, whence comes this info?! Also, shouldn't stuff like that be hidden under, you know, spoiler tags?

I don't recall where I read it, Reddit probably which is where Brandon posts most of his updates on SA3. I put the spoilers tag.
Zea mays
Sorry, I never heard about that at all. Now I wonder how much more tantalizing wild Oathbringer information is lurking around on this Reddit. Have an upvote for spoiler tagging though. It is hard to keep track of the right references, but anyone who is perceptive and cares to spend the time to read all of it does gather a few clues here and there. I am not sure the bout I posted came from Reddit though... It has been used quite a few times in those pages which is why I didn't think to spoiler tag it. If it really is true, then maybe it may only apply to honorspren.
Blightsong
I also remember seeing what Maxal said on Reddit. I recommend going through Brandon's comments every month or two (he is u/Mistborn). It feels creepy but it's worth the sweet sweet Cosmere tid bits.

He does give out a few interesting tip bits of information. Nothing truly mind blowing, but stuff gets leaked out there. Also, he does answer if you poke him occasionally as long as you are not abusive and you mind what you are asking for. In any advent, it is worth going through his comments on a regular basis: you do learn a few things with respect to SA3. In other words, he'll answer stuff about SA3 main narrative as long as you remain basic with your questions, but he probably won't answer the more in-depth questions which are typically asked at signings. And I still did not manage to get the answer I so wish to have, so it does have its limitation.
Botanica
If anyone could find the source and provided the link! I've been keeping following Brandon's activities on Reddit these recent months but didn't remember seeing anything like this! I hope it is canon =) Edited August 21, 2016 by Botanica

He actually replies (though out of my like 3 questions i got rafo'd twice and answered one of my questions vaguely lol) if message him in one of the comments. Mr. Sanderson is quite active i love it. It was about book 3 Spoiler Where i asked if are we gonna see involvement/influence of other shards that aren't in Roshar on book 3 like not directly involved (if i phrased my question correctly to him) and he affirmed And he also said that Mistborn was more cosmere than Stormlight at least the first 5 books of stomrlight was less cosmere he said Edited August 21, 2016 by goody153
Hairbrainedgypsy
Warbreaker Spoiler! Spoiler I find it interesting that Kalad (similar though not exactly Kalak) is a name that Vasher says at the end of Warbreaker he has been known as.
