Bryce Carmony he/him Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 On earth we have the Japaneese Spider crab which, if you are unfamiliar with, you can see on Wikipedia is pretty much living nightmare fuel. Just think of living on Roshar where everything is pretty much a creepy shelly scarey pincery terror. Sure if I were born there'd I'd be alright (I have blue eyes so I'd be really alright as an alethi despite my paleness. ) but if I were to world hope over I think I'd hop back pretty quick.
taveren he/him Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) those things look cool if you want to go for creppy Invertebrates https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solifugae Edited March 8, 2016 by taveren 1

DreamEternal Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Both of those arthropodes look awesome(ly creepy)! I don't see how they would keep someone from living on Roshar. --says the guy studying Biological Sciences at college. 2
Arraenae Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 These look pretty interesting. I just don't want one getting anywhere near me.

Vander Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Actually, I feel like axehounds would be the best of them. They seemed rather cute in the drawings, at least in terms of behaviour. 1
Bryce Carmony he/him Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 It'd be like petting a lobster. Ill take warmth and fur over cold shells anyday

Patrick Star Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I don't know why this is an issue. In fact, all of the crustaceans on Roshar would be to my benefit. I'd just hurl them at my enemies and watch them get eaten, flee in fear, or both. It's one of the many skills that Skyrim has taught me. 3
hoidhunter he/him Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Fortunatley roshar seems to be mostly lacking in flying arthropods. There is apprently a japanese wasp about 3 inches long that sprays corrosive acid...that then acts as a pheremone trigger for other wasps to come spray you! *holds fist up to a skyeel* BRING IT!!! 2

Are you talking about the Asian Hornets, Vespa mandarinia (and it's japonica subspecies)? They have a neurotoxin instead of just acid in their stings and kill about 40 people a year in both Japan and China (with many more needing hospital treatment). Roshar has it really lucky (these have recently been found in France and killed 4 people last year). Edited March 9, 2016 by Cortez 2
hoidhunter he/him Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Yup...those would be the horrible nightmareish creatures in question...giant lobsters don't sound so bad...
hoidhunter he/him Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) That is a truely horrifying scene...I feel the same way about the rest of that movie... ...the only horror movie I've ever seen where the crazy sociopaths have a cute little parade... Edited March 11, 2016 by hoidhunter
