Patar he/him Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Perhaps they could discuss Valran or the message the Sith sent out regarding him? Maybe they could also briefly touch upon the breakout at Star's End?
Citadel16 he/him Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Perhaps they could discuss Valran or the message the Sith sent out regarding him? Maybe they could also briefly touch upon the breakout at Star's End? i like this idea. they would also talk largely about the war which would be a fantastic time for some political worldbuilding. we could strategize about where the jedi are going to attack and talk about what other factions there are.
Patar he/him Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 So should we like, each post a character profile if we want to be someone on the council? And would the planning for what the council discuss go in this thread, and then the actual meeting will go in the RP?

That sounds good to me. and depending on what our future plans for characters are, we could bring up certain topics to sort of set them in motion. the councils would sort of be a world building technique

Citadel16 he/him Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) and now its return of the sixth! ... ... okay its a bit of a stretch, but still! edit:Okay. I just realized I have a big timeline issue that needs fixing. Edited May 6, 2016 by WarriorMark16
Nashan’Elin he/him Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I just put another IX-39B post up. Warriormark, if my droid does end up finding Valran, feel free to kill it. I have backup characters
Citadel16 he/him Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) my first response was so... any particular reason? we should give him something important to do Edited May 6, 2016 by WarriorMark16
Clockwork he/him Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Obviously, if he dies, a mechanics expert just brings him back to life. That's why droids are better than humans.
A Windspren he/him Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Any ideas for the greater role for my character to play?
Nashan’Elin he/him Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I was more thinking along the lines of going from IX-39B to IX-39C
The Honor Spren she/her Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MY CHARACTER. HELP.
Patar he/him Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I think we definitely need something to help the Jedi characters. The bounty hunter characters all seem to have some kind of goal, so we should figure out something that can help tie them into things.

The bounty hunter characters all seem to have some kind of goal, so we should figure out something that can help tie them into things. the Jedi would be in near constant combat with Sith forces, or when they are not they would be acting as ambassadors and teachers. another thing we could play with is the idea of jedi families. Luke Skywalker married. and so it would stand to reason that they would/could follow that. jedi could be in relationships. relationships would also have to be in a certain manner, the Jedi having to put the needs of the galaxy first. @honorspren. here is a writing prompt and I think it is awesome that when you type Jedi it comes up as a real word, but sith has that wiggly red line underneath it, saying: "you are wrong, suckers"
Citadel16 he/him Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) I'm going to find you, Valran Solo. You can't hide from me. holy flip that post made me a bit too happy to be good. that means it was awesome. and kevino, give your character a superb reason to be assassinated. have him be the last surviving prince of a destroyed planet with a people in need of a leader or something like that. Hmm... I was thinking that it was someone watching for anyone looking for that information on Coruscant (which was the same thing Valran was looking for, as I was kinda out of ideas for why Faolin was there ). That would also give a reason for my character to encounter the bounty hunters/Valran at some point.

Ehh, I'm just don't really want Faolin to be the long-lost prince thing that has to return to save the world or something. It's a really overused trope.
Citadel16 he/him Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 you could always punch it in the face a few times but if you don't want to that's cool. there is always more detail to be found in back stories. you dont necessarily have to come up with that immediately. maybe his entire body language screams "Please try to kill me, Im so bored." plus, its fun to play with tropes. take the average story and put a horrible life shattering twist. Example: literate kid from farm leaves to attend university. kid gets kicked out after learning a bit. kid learns how to defend himself before leaving to slay a dragon and get the princess. he succeeds and marries the princess now for the twist. he is a horrible ruler, the princess hates him the nobility mock him behind his back and this is all seen from the POV of their child who happens to be a great guy that everyone hates. 1
Vikro he/him Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) Hey guys, could I join? I just finished reading this thread, so I haven't read the actual RP yet, but I will as soon as I can. Let me know what type of character you need. Also, since this is a star wars RP, none of you will be forgiven if you don't read this. http://www.darthsanddroids.net/archive.html Basically, imagine as if star wars was a experienced as a tabletop RPG campaign. It is the best thing I have ever read. EDIT: Just started reading, and the first post mentions the Old Republic. I sensed that it meant the republic that was around during the prequel series. So, then what is the actual old republic called? The really old republic? Also, I feel that it would be super helpful if we studied the the time during the 1st KOTOR game. The politics between Sith and Jedi seem to be really similar. Sorry if you've already done this. Edited May 10, 2016 by Vikro

Sorry if you've already done this. when we say old republic I mean the prequel series. the old old republic would be the ancient republic. the politics of sith and jedi are thus: kill each other. there are also sith politics among themselves. the master and student philosophy still holds, though there are dozens of Sith pairs throughout the galaxy. they sort of do their own thing and have their own armies and forces. they sort of act like feudal kings amongst themselves. they don't really have an empire, they just put on a unified front while quietly throwing things at each other when they aren't trying to kill jedi.
