Hey guys this is my first post..

Now TLR was a full Metalborn and so he had access to Double Zinc intelligence (how did he ever lose?!?!). So even if he was confident he wouldn't ever be defeated, he should have realized that his time was running out as his Atium Compounding for youth would soon be too impractical to continue (he needs too tap more and more youth as he got older).

My question is: why wasn't he planning for this and preparing a successor to take his place? He should have thought of it, with the Zinc compounding..

He was waiting around for the Well of Ascension to fill again, roughly 1,000 years from when he first used it's power. Perhaps he determined with Double Zinc that he could use the Well's power to make himself truly young again, and "reset" the amount of Atium he needed to stay young.

Maybe he intented to revert his age when Well Of Ascension filled up again?

TLR was a bit of an idiot. I have so many posts I want to make that all culminate in: he shouldn't have been defeated. The only explanation is that Ruin wanted him to lose and so manipulated him into not making the right decisions.

I don't think he ever planned on having a successor, like ever. He just figured he would continue to take the power at the well and keep Ruin trapped. He might have had plans of his own on dealing with Ruin once the well was ready, but he was killed before he could take up the power again.

That makes sense.

Btw, how come he didn't get bored after 1000 years? He didn't go for any parties or anything the only thing he did was attend the executions. What did he spend the 1000 years doing?  He wasn't even a very good ruler.

I suppose he wanted to give himself a true immortality when the Well will be refilled (and of course fix any problem He made on Scadrial).

He had 1000 years of time to study and expand his knowledge of Anatomy and whatever he need.

IIRC while the crew was planning who to send to high society balls under cover, it's explicitly stated that TLR does actually attend on occasion. They only ruled Dox out because TLR knew his face from a previous job.
