christianlathaire Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Did anyone else feel like they had stumbled into an episode of Star Trek when David finally confronted Calamity? Q is the only one that springs readily to mind, but it seems like every five episodes of Star Trek there's some godlike being saying how depraved and violent humans are. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the similarities are uncanny. 3
Clanky he/him Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 The feeling I got with Calamity and "not being able to interfere yet totally interfering" remind me of sixth of the dusk spoilers when the ones above have all their rules about how to interact with the locals but totally interfere and cause problems anyways But everyone knows that Reckoners isn't cosmere so unfortunately there can't possibly be anything there
natc Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) Imagine if Reckonerverse isn't cosmere because Earth . . . but the home world of Calamity and Invocation is. jk Edited February 21, 2016 by natc 1

The Invested Beard Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 So Calamity's race is part of the Federation and follows the prime directive? Fascinating.
vineyarddawg Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 So Calamity's race is part of the Federation and follows the prime directive? Fascinating. Much in the same way that humans "follow" the prime directive, apparently.
LightReader she/her Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Imagine if Reckonerverse isn't cosmere because Earth . . . but the home world of Calamity and Invocation is. jk Invocation even sounds a little bit like a Shard name. And then there's the whole bit about him coming from a place lacking stimuli... like maybe he came from a sort of cognitive/spiritual dimension rather than a physical one?
natc Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Oh, no, plenty of ways to get brutally killed in the Cognitive realm. And Spiritual is apparently mostly a mass of Connections as far as we can tell. Clearly he's from the Beyond.
