scifan he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 There's a point in Words of Radiance, where it appears that Syl see's Pattern, goes to investigate, but I don't remember anything coming from that. I'm surprised that the "bonded" spren don't seem to see one another... (or did I miss that?)
Nashan’Elin he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Anybody can see Pattern, it's only Syl so far who can disappear. There are references to the sailors on the Wind's Pleasure seeing Pattern, as well as him having to hide in an illusion or on Shallan's dress.

Still this does raise a good point, you'd think that Pattern would notice that the same windspren is always hovering around Kaladin Heh I forgot how to spell Kaladin's name (shameful I know) so I looked it up on the Stormlight archive wiki and under the knights radiant page I found this WOB Q. Jondesu he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Glys also seems to be able to hide himself, probably even from other spren, but it does seem so far that some spren can hide from other people and/or other spren most likely, while others may not be able to. jW
natc Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I recall one of the spren saying that some spren find it hard to become visible to normal people, while others have the opposite problem. Kaladin can always see Syl though, as can Rock (for different reasons). Pattern appears to be stuck, while Syl did shift into visible state once in a chasm to show herself off.
