Popular Post christianlathaire Posted January 31, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 31, 2016 So, I've got a pretty boring job at a call center, so over the last couple months I've sketched out characters for all two hundred fifty six twinborn combinations. They're not all great and most of them were written before the Bands of Mourning was released so the enhancement feruchemy abilities are a little off, but I had a ton of fun with this and I thought I would share it. Oversleep Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) First, hello to the Shard. Take this welcome cookie, please.Second, you're crazy. In the good way. You will make a fine addition to the Shard.I quickly looked through your list and I am not sure you got the double bronze right. It's true that the man would need to sleep ever, but he would tire like any other man. He probably won't be affected by sleep deprivation insanity, but his muscles will tire and his body would require probably the same amount of rest as normal humans. But he can probably read books while resting his body.I like Bendalloy Steel, nice And there definitely aren't 256 combinations, since most of Aluminum and Duraluminum Gnats doesn't matter. Argent he/him Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 And there definitely aren't 256 combinations, since most of Aluminum and Duraluminum Gnats doesn't matter. On the contrary. They might not have useful powers, but being a Gnat certainly affects one's personality, which makes a Twinborn who is a an allomantic Gnat different from a Ferring with the same power.

I meant that they aren't inluded in the list.
Zmann966 he/him Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Excluding when they're compounders.Even an Aluminum or Duralumin Gnat has some awesome capabilities when he's also a Ferring.
VoltCruelerz he/him Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I never thought about Chromium compounders before... I mean, obviously TLR was a gold compounder, but between having basically infinite healing and infinite luck, how did he manage to get himself assassinated?

Chromium wasn't discovered until after the Final Ascension. It's possible the Lord Ruler knew about it, having held the power of preservation and all, but didn't have the means to refine and manufacture it with the current technology level. The Lord Ruler was killed via a combination of planning, determination, skill, and shardly intervention.
natc Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 And probably him having gotten used to underestimating every threat on his life since the results are generally predictable and boring. The mists suddenly being burned was a literal deus ex machina moment, let's be honest. That came out of the blue for him and then poof goes his youth.
Alfa he/him Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Also, I guess that he was tired. Very, very tired. You live for a thousand years now, your only "friends" are psychopaths with spiked eyes and boring bureaucrates. So he liked the challenge in fighting a Mistborn and played "fair" to an amount. That was his death penalty (why not compound brass and go full Obliteration, for example? Or compound steel and pinch Vin to death vith a chopstick? He'd be fast enough for it)
KnightGradient Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Well... you sure do have a lot of free time! Also, thank you, I spent a few hours combing through them, and it was really fun!
DeadFencer Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Why would you do this. It's so much work. I'm amazed. I just joined the 17th shard. I didn't make this before joining. Wow. Also my theory is that TLR threw the fight, consciously or not.
