So, a while ago, I went to Sanderson's website and sent him an email asking for White Sand and Aether of Night. Recently I got an email giving me White Sand. Ecstatic as I was, I was slightly disappointed that I didn't get both. For those who have been where I am, do you get Aether of Night through email like White Sand, or am I completely delusional? Also, are there any explanations for why I didn't get them both?

And finally, do White Sand and Aether of Night take place on the same world?

Somebody must have made a mistake there. You could ask again for Aether.

And no, they do not take place on the same world.

Yes, or you can send another email. But I think it would be better to reply.

Hope you enjoy White Sand in the meantime! If you want to discuss it I believe there's a PM group somewhere.

If you're polite and appreciative I'm sure they'll have no problem sending out Aether to you as well, although there might well be a delay.

Actually, it was very quickly fixed. Sad it isn't Cosmere.

Enjoy! I always thought Aether of Night was a Cosmere book (albeit a non-canonical one). Did you get a WoB regarding this?

It's in the foreword. He says he wrote it before he was published, when he was in full Cosmere mode. He says it isn't Cosmere, but used some of the elements in Aether in the Cosmere.

Hmm, that's weird, my copy of Aether did not come with any foreword, and I distinctly remember Brandon referring to it as "cosmere but non-canon" in WoB.

I count myself lucky, then.

Just finished White Sands. Where is the appropriate place for discussions of its content? So many thoughts/ideas/theories.

There is currently nowhere that I know of that these things can be discussed, but apparently something is in the works.

There is a PM thread somewhere for unpublished works, but you have to have someone invite you. If you PM a mod (Moogle, Rubix, Kurk, etc.), they should be able to help you.

In his last State of the Sanderson, he certainly indicated that it will be a Cosmere book. And mine had the foreward (I got it just before Christmas), but I don't remember him saying it wasn't Cosmere.
