Hi guys,

I have all the Mistborns up to/including Book 4,  and wanted to buy the last book 5: Shadows of Self. I've got the first 4 in paperback form and would like to buy the last book in paperback too. However, when I look for the book online, I noticed that the paperback version has a completely different art style to the hardback, and i really think the hardback version is in a similar style to all the other Mistborn books (1-4) and for this reason I would like to buy the 5th book in this same style but it is not available anywhere...

Does anyone know if they will release Book 5 paperback in the same art work cover as the hardback?

Would love to know!

Thanks. Have a nice day.

In the US, mass market paperbacks are usually released a year or so after the hardcover, and they'll usually have the same cover. Amazon has a listing for Oct 4, 2016.

Paperbacks are cheaper, but you have to wait longer to get them. A very effective way of getting people to buy hardcovers. (It worked on me, at least.)

The reason the paperback has a different cover is that that is the UK cover.  As Pagerunner points out US publishers generally do not release paperback versions until about a year after the release of the Hardcover.

Thanks everyone for the replies! That clarifies the situation!

So, maybe it's worth waiting for the release of the last book of the second Mistborn Trilogy? And get the full set in paperback version :D? But that may be 2017 or 2018?

I know Brandon Sanderson has already written Mistborn Book 5 & 6 but there isn't any forecast that i am aware of for Book 7? Anyone knows? If it's a long time form now I'm not sure if i'll be able to wait for the paperback trilogy to be released :D... Then again I have just bought the Stormlight Archives so I definitely still have things to read :D...

Book 7, The Lost Metal, will likely get written shortly after the completion of Stormlight 3. There might potentially be a teen novel thrown in between them though.

Edit: The upcoming State of the Sanderson will shed some light on this.

That's the UK cover.

I should know.

I live in the UK.

However, since the earliest books didn't get a hardback release in the UK, I have started importing Hardbacks from the US.

Ah ok thanks for the info... But i mean I don't know if you have experienced this, but when you buy the first 4 books of a series in paperback, and then you get the last 2 books of the series in hardback it looks rather awkward in the good-old bookshelf..  it's so frustrating that they cannot make paperbacks with the same art-work as the hardbacks...

To make it worse the publisher "TOR-Forge" only accepts general questions on Twitter, no real help/support service :"(... Do I need to make a twitter account for this? God I'm mad :'(
