Argent he/him Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 It's really just a way for you to ask Brandon to personalize your book. You can ask for pretty much anything (reasonable) - a dedication, a quote, something silly for hit to write, a question about any one of his books, maaaybe a question about himself, a picture. You name it. When I bought my copy of Shadows of Self I asked him to write a dedication (to me) as if he were from Scadrial and got something like "May your metals be always full" or "May your metals never run out" or something to that effect. I have decided that I like getting my books personalized in such fashion - something personal, but also fitting the world the book takes place in. So I am trying to come up with something Aonic for the leatherbound Elantris.

Alloy of Law was probably a hyperactive child, while Mistborn was the one kid that sat in a corner tearing heads off dolls. Stormlight was always off on his own, pretending he was in his own little world. Elantris was somewhat normal, but always getting bumps and bruises. Warbreaker went crazy with the crayons and especially the finger painting. I'll stop now. 5

Shadows of Self acts a lot like The Alloy of Law, then he says something that tears your soul apart, the Emperors Soul is a philosophical artist. Mr. Sanderson is constantly making them share him, though Stormlight still gets to play with him the most. 8
