The Bandersnatch

Where does the title come from? I've seen it around for quite a while, and it was even mentioned on this page near the bottom.

Does anyone know the origin of "The Bandersnatch?"

(Not referring to Jabberwocky, people...:P)

I have vague recollection of there being a thread where people were trying to decide what Brandon Sanderson fans should be called, since other fandoms have names for themselves.  And then someone mentioned Bandersnatch, and *bam!* done.

Wish I could find the thread to share.

Yeah, that isn't a reference to Brandon, but to Bandersnatch Group Inc. which is for Robert Jordan/The Wheel of Time what Dragonsteel Entertainment is for Brandon.  It is the company that handles the rights for the books and any adaptations.

This is why I've never been a fan of "Bandersnatch" being used as a nickname for Brandon, it's too murky.

Huh, haven't seen that before. Sanderfan always seems to work fine.
