I guess we could do something like that. My main problem is that I have no idea what to actually do with her. She's way too powerful to be sent into the bus chase, because she'd end it within seconds of her arriving. There's no other Epic in The Dalles who could reasonably contest her. Whichever side she's on pretty much wins automatically, unless it's a force like the City Guard ubiquitous enough to shoot her in the back when she's not looking.

I can bloat out the screening process, pile up bureaucracy ahead of her, but we need to face her with a challenge she can't just blow up / teleport into submission or else she'll be the sole resolution to all of The Dalles' conflicts.

Unless it's relationship conflicts. :P

Would Vondra be inclined to keep her in reserve until he's certain she's not an internal threat? Shiny could either stick around and wait for (in a meta sense) a threat big enough to warrant her help, or get bored/insulted and run off to another city.

Well, she still has to return Backtrack's glasses to him, so that would keep her bussy for at least a while and in fact could tie into Chouta's (? Not sure because of the Ookla stuff) character going to Portland.

That could work, but Vondra's pretty angry and determined to get Quicksilver flushed out by any means possible. I can't really see him not using an instant victory condition like Shiny every time Fatebreaker introduces an Epic the Guard can't handle.

I can't imagine Vondra would be happy about an Epic like Shiny Sparkle visiting Portland, right in the heart of a hornet's nest full of Epics she could decide to ally with and lead back to The Dalles. I guess we'll just have to figure out a good justification for holding her in reserve, letting her work out interpersonal problems instead of combative ones, until we have an Epic OP enough to take her in a fight coming 'round. (Obliteration, maybe?)

She's your character though. What plot line would you like to write her pursuing?

Impact and Deathwish at least wouldn't instantly be killed in a fight with her, but Deathwish is on the guards' side (kindof) and Impact isn't likely to draw much attention right now.

She is quite the striker, truth be told. I guess she could be send to deal with/do reckon on the Panda. Reasted up, he should be able to take a couple of explosions and fur alone doesn't equal charms. :P

Still, returning his glasses to Backtrack is something already on her list one way or another, so it may be more acurate to say that he's sending a babysitter along with her and it's not like the Empire (or Portland in general) is filled with good boyfriend material.

Thinking about it, her powers actually make her a pretty good anti-Corpsemaker fighter.

Even if they were fighting her, Shiny could just touch either of them and teleport them to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

Given she doesn't know the ins and outs of Deathwish's power it wouldn't be too smart and if she tried to touch Impact she'd lose an arm, plus both are fliers so not a guaranteed kill in either case.

What cities in the Wastelands are open?

Brisbane, Darwin, Perth and Hobart I think.

Are any of those completely unstructured at the moment?

Hobbart and Brisbane. And probably Perth too if anyone really wanted it to be since it wasn't mentioned much so it can be retconned pretty easily.

1:10,000 Epics to humans and 1:100 High Epics to Epics, though there's a fair bit of leeway since the goal is obviously for people to be able to play the characters they want, so as long as you don't want everyone in a town of 100 people to become Steelheart it's probably fine :P

Well, the good news about a town full of Steelhearts is that they'd be so busy battling each other for supremacy and shouting about their own divinity that the citizens could pretty much just evacuate and leave the town be. :P

Plus they'd all activate each others' weakness :P

She said as an entire state was destroyed. :P

So Kobold, what does ye say to my last post on the Shiny topic?

Now now lets be reasonable here. A hundred battling Steelhearts would destroy at least 3 states.

Oh yes, that one state was just in the time Twi spoke that sentence. :P

Sending her to face the Panda seems like a good option. She's far too volatile, not to mention unstoppable, to be sent along with Chouta's character. No one in the Empire is good boyfriend material, but there are far too many people there who could conceivably talk her into ditching The Dalles. She's already not very happy with who she has to work with there and what she has to put up with, and I can't imagine the incentive of winning over a woman she knew for less than thirty minutes would keep her strong against temptation.

Can she blow up organic matter?

What about a non-combat task that makes use of her teleportation power?  Some of the corpses Taylor Swift has left behind should probably have been discovered by now (especially the ones from yesterday).  With her attack on the van, and the killing of the that captain (or whatever he was) there might be enough to deduce there might be a rogue epic in town.  Once she's done with the pandas, Vondra coudl get Shiny to search the city with teleportation.  She's powerful enough that he wouldn't be worried about risking her going up against an epic of unknown strength, and the search could be fun.

EDIT:  Since he came in with the group who was attacked, maybe Shiny could track down Brandon?  I have a feeling that interaction could be fun.

The idea was more to have him shoot her in the back but if Vondra wants to give her semi house arrest right of the bat.

Yes but in the case of animals and humans it has to be dead or at least removed from the body at large first.

Possibly, although she would have trouble telling who the Epic shapeshifter actually is.

Oh the poor guy. Where is he right now anyway?

Shiny tracks down Brandon and begins aggressively flirting with him, Taylor arrives, Shiny and Taylor fight over a guy who neither of them know is actually gay. Surprise surprise!

That is, assuming that Shiny doesn't suddenly develop a thing for Taylor as well.

I'm not so much suggesting that this becomes canon as simply postulating insanity. :P

But if Shiny develops a thing for Brandon and Taylor and the random guard who's sent in to deal with the situation….

In my head he found some place to sleep last night after getting away from Prankster, and is now wandering the city, completely lost, and kind of miserable, haha.

She couldn't tell who the shapershifter is, but she would be able to track suspicious activity by receiving reports and then teleporting to the scene?  If the idea doesn't work that's fine, but I figured it could be fun, haha.  It could be a good way for Vondra to test her patience and discipline?

Poor Brandon.

I guess that could work yeah, as long as you keep a constant string of Tylor activity to track down going.
