The Metronomians are invariably listed as the most fearsome and nightmarish species in all the universe, feared by even the mightiest empires and alliances. They began as the universe's most efficient clock makers, the inventors of timepieces that stayed accurate in any star system or at any near light-speed velocity. They still are the universe's most efficient clock makers, but are also listed as the most fearsome and nightmarish species in all the universe because they demand it and no one wants to hurt their feelings.

I only now pulled the parallel between Metronome and Sylar from Heroes... good think their powers are different.

Guys I think I will re-do my Glacier post. I think he came out a bit too Mary Sue-ish. I hope you don't mind. He hasn't interacted yet so it shouldn't be a problem.

As an Epic, though, wouldn't he just not care about the mistreatment unless he has ulterior motives?

He is an Epic that fights the darkness, which isn't as strong as for other Epics. He isn't actually a High Epic, since his only power is being immune to Epic powers. Also, an update on his profile, he is immune to Epic powers, and cancels them out when very close (about 6 inches) away from the Epic. This allows him to neutralize High Epics by getting very close.

Okay, but even Megan had trouble fighting the corruption, and Prof's only out was his gifting. The next book could prove me wrong, but I'm getting the implication that he had some pretty strong ulterior motives for going after Epics like Fortuity and Redleaf. So if Neutrality is going to be an Epic who goes after other Epics, I'd say the corruption would have to manifest itself in some pretty obvious ways. An example would be Seonid's character Paladin, who in fighting an Epic tyrant, let a random vanilla die with the justification that "he doesn't matter."

And Edgedancer brought up a good point, that other Epics wouldn't stand for his "man of justice" deal. Even if he hides that pretty well, a power-cancelling Epic is going to be a pretty massive threat to other Epics, to the point where he'll be on almost everyone's hit list once they find out what he does.

Him being in Salem helps with people attacking him because Salem has fairly good Epic policing. His corruption has nothing to do with Salem

Wouldn't he still pose a threat to Soulcaster, though? I think it makes more sense to have him as a lone wolf character. And as for the corruption....being able to negate others' abilities entirely seems like a pretty powerful passive ability, if it's a constant thing.

I don't think Soulcaster cares overly much about things outside the Arena.

Besides, I don't know how I would do a lone wolf

Talk to Voidus, but it seems like word of his power would travel fast, so he'd be on Soulcaster's radar.

So, I figured I'd see how OP this Epic is. His name is Mimic, he can imitate any power observed, as long as the Epic that has the ability is within a one-kilometer radius. If he simply has the Epic's DNA(cryogenically frozen or not) it counts as the Epic being close. He can also neutralize all of an Epic's powers for 12 hours. No more or less than 12 hours.

Unless we're utilizing a time skip, 12 hours is an eternity in this game.

How about ten minutes?

That's still a pretty long time in game. One of the most dangerous epics we have has the ability to neutralize 1 non-passive ability as long as he can see the person, Steelheart invincibility and a 5 second kill on a single person. I'd say that Mimic is way more dangerous. He neutralizes powers and then kills whoever opposes him with a stolen power. Even in Astoria, he'd be pretty OP.

Time limit is negotiable. Also, would it be less OP if it was only one power per Epic at a time? I am not currently planning on putting him in Astoria, but maybe.

Maybe he can only cancel powers through touch? That'd make him dangerous, but he'd only really be useful in interrogations when a prisoner with a PI needs to be threatened.

okay. so i was told to write a scene where antimatter uses his mad skilz

its a bit dodgy, but i was pressed for time.

spoiler for length and ACTION!

Antimatter spun to face his assailant, a burst of fusion energy ready to rage from his fingers. His new victim was someone he’d never seen before, he wore a black hooded duster and green disks of energy spun around each hand.

Antimatter fired an explosion towards the man, who flipped over it like some sort of acrobat. Antimatter ducked another energy disk, thrown by the other epic.

This is getting tiresome. He thought, sending another fusion blast from his hands. Then he activated his second power.

Immediately the world around him was lit up in yellow and red lined. Yellow for things that had happened, and red for things that he, in his heightened cognitive setting, could calculate would happen.

Antimatter slid underneath another energy disk and came up on both feet, firing a pair of blasts towards the epic. He saw the man’s next moves before they could happen, like a yellow silhouette outlining the movements before they could happen.

Everything was outlined. The cars around gave detailed description of their year, manufactioner, and their ability to be driven. The buildings became mapped. He suddenly was aware of what street he was on, which would be the best way to escape.

Or the best way to win.

There was a problem with that, though. He couldn’t guess everything. On average he had a seventy-three percent rate of successful foretelling. It was hardly a sure fire mean of success.

He also died twenty-seven percent of the time he used it. Seventy-three percent successful, twenty-seven percent deadly.

Antimatter moved, dodging a disk with deft ease. Projectiles were easy. They always had a certain path they would follow, that made it easier. The simpler the math was the more he could predict what was next.

People, on the other hand, where harder. Always acting illogically, it was harder for his enhanced mind to work with random, erratic, illogical behavior and for that reason he didn’t use it all that often.

But someone using repeating patterns of acrobatics and martial arts?

He was just asking for it.

The man spun, jumped in the air and landed, sending another disc towards Antimatter, who dodged them with a mere turn of his shoulders. He sent a blast that destroyed the ground where the acrobat had been moments before.

Before the man could even touch the car that had been the landing point of his latest flip, Antimatter had blown it out from underneath him. He landed with a flop.

Antimatter was on him in an instant, with his boot pressed firmly against his back.

                “Who are you?” Antimatter growled.

The man groaned. “Names Vengeance, you slontze.”

“Well, Vengeance, you are about to die.”

There was a click from behind him. The click a semi-automatic crowburner sidearm, .45 cal. One with the new electron compressed magazines designed for handguns.

“Nah,” Vengeance said,” just waiting for a buddy of mine.”

Neutrality is sort of a man of Justice. If he sees an Epic mistreating anybody, either Epic or vanilla, he goes after the Epic. He leads a very lonely lifestyle, vanillas are afraid of him because Epics go after his loved ones instead of him, and Epics are afraid of him because they can't affect him.

He's serving as a marshal of sorts in Salem, and hears Mugshot talking about Astoria. Sensing a potential challenge, he makes up his mind to go, and invites Mugshot because Neutrality needs a friend.

Also, are you cool with Stormgate having rabbits as pets?

Salem would be one of the safer choices for such a person and Soulcaster's generally on the side of not killing Vanillas for no reason but he also wouldn't tolerate killing Epics without consulting him since they're his main source of entertainment. Only problem other than that is that Salem already has an Epic-canceler. Although I suppose there could have been some rivalry between them since they're slightly different.

It may or may not have been deliberate.
