Kobold King he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 He'd have to be very powerful for that to work, considering even Obliteration remembers the atrocities he committed at full power. It's true that we haven't seen many resurrection Epics in canon, but all of the most powerful canon Epics remember the atrocities they committed after their Rendings, even at full power. Heck, if Obliteration were going to go on another Rending, it would've been after he destroyed Houston, but from everything we've seen, he didn't. It seems clear to me that the only memory loss Epics suffer is related to their Rendings; they're stuck with the memories of everything else they do. It might not be a true Rending or corruption side effect, even if he thinks he is. We have documented memory loss as a by-product of an Epic's powers, like with Firefight. Maybe the berserk rage and memory loss is just a quirk of his powers.

It isn't as strong a connection as the one with Megan's powers. With her, she loses her memory of everything that happened before she died because it's a different version of herself, so her memory of dying is missing. The connection between memory loss and antimatter manipulation could work, but it just doesn't seem like a strong connection to me.
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Hey warriormark! Did you actually mean that he has a rending along with the memory loss each time he dies or did you simply mean that he goes on a rampage?
Citadel16 he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) How small antimatter explosions? Melon sized, smaller or larger. when in his "rendings" he can make one the size of a small building (with minimal force redirection) because a melon sized explosion is not all that powerful in the long run. outside of his rendings he is only able to create van sized or smaller explosions. this force seems to bloom out as a normal explosion would, before snapping into a highly concentrated beam of antimatter energy. as to the issue with the rendings. he's just extremely more powerful and really pissed off. which I kinda thought was what a rending was. so yeah! he just kills anyone who tries to interact with him. he can also "Aim" his rage at a specific target, due to his enhanced intelligence, so thats a little like the hulk in that regard. note that he remembers things from his reincarnations, just not from his previous life before he was an epic. that merely has to do with psychological functions and is not tied to his epic powers. ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Are his reincarnations instant?
Citadel16 he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 five hour intervals. he sometimes has Harkness (whom I plan to be his buddy) kill him in order to unlock his full power five hours later. needless to say harkness doesn't like doing it.

ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Does he reincarnate wherever he died? Someplace nearby? Can he choose where?
Citadel16 he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) he chooses beforehand Edited December 28, 2015 by warriormark16
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 What if he doesn't? What if he reincarnates and immediately gets shot?
Citadel16 he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 wow. that would be hilarious to watch. he has a very dramatic entrance. he would wait five hours and re-spawn at the previous checkpoint if you get my meaning.
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 If it wasn't for that intelect i'd say he was underpowered. All you have to do is shoot him and you got 5 hours free.

ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Might be a little game-breaking….. Also a bit bone-breaking.
Citadel16 he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I sugest you use the actual line "And then he died" in one of your RP posts so I've been repeatedly told. but how should I introduce him and where should I introduce him? Might be a little game-breaking….. the rocket thing? don't worry he's only "stupid" enough to try it after an incarnation. and he can never land without dying.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Did Deathwish leave the bus chase?
Kobold King he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Did Deathwish leave the bus chase? Nah, he was just falling back to figure out a plan before rejoining. I'll get posts up soon. Before he rejoins he'll be trying to talk to Edgerunner for a minute.

Kobold King he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Okay, through radio or when she gets close? Do you think Deathwish would turn down a chance to get close?
Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Do you think Deathwish would turn down a chance to get close? This is why Frostfire's coming along. So, do you want to post with him coming up to Emma and Ethan? I don't have much to say before they run into him.
Edgedancer he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 hello again people of the RPverse. its me. warriormark. the guy who took up five pages in question 16 to settle the Hunter argument. (that should be in my signature somewhere). but whatever! I'm back! And im thinking of using the following character rather than the Hunter. antimatter ntimatter primary power: antimatter force redirection creates small antimatter explosions that he is able to channel into a high powered energy attack. He can also control how powerful the explosion is. secondary power: Reincarnation. When he dies he comes back five hours later in full fledged Rending mode. tertiary power: super indexed IQ "If Einsteins IQ was in the stratosphere, Antimatter's was somewhere on the far edge of the moon." appearance: tattered peacoat, close shave, boots. Vice: he has no Idea who he is and has no memories past his first rending. So how do you plan on having that whole antimatter deal actually plan out? Because creating antimatter is a whole lot more complicated than just creating explosions and if all you want is an explosion then including the antimatter is superfluous anyway. This may seem like a weird question but why does he get more powerful? I mean we have a reason with Megan, namely that ripping a hole between dimensions that lets another version of her show up makes things wonky enough for her powers to have more influence on things but no one acts like it's normal for powers to increase that much (or at all) after a resurrection. So why does he get stronger? And again I feel the need to ask how you plan the intelligence power to actually play out. Lots of Other People : I'd like my first character to be a High Epic with ______ as their power set. Chouta Connoisseur : I WANT TO RP AS A CHILEAN GUY NAMED CLARENCE! You should be proud of yourself.

Vastly enhanced intelligence like that is kind of hard to deploy for similar reasons to precognition beyond just a danger sense is. We don't really know what's going to happen most of the time but a hyper-intelligent character probably should. I'd probably suggest a more limited but potentially powerful version of it, perfect recall, intuitive understanding or something like that. Antimatter is another problem, antimatter doesn't really explode as such it would just annihilate and release gamma radiation bursts. It'd pretty much kill everyone in the city with even a small explosion.
