I considered suggesting Shiny....and then I imagined the two of them competing over who has the most amazing cleavage.

Not sure how I feel about that.

Did you already forget, Shiny's aiming for those "scary sues" that are actually the only good character in the story?

...it just occurred to me that there are a lot of writers who would make Deathwish the antihero that Marilyn Susanson finds herself mysteriously attracted to.

I think I need to go wash my brain out with soap.

Now, Marilyn/redeemed!Deathwish, on the other hand....

Am I the only one who has a little, evil voice telling them that it would be hilarious if the princess Elsa was shot while doing her stereotypical "action girl" Disney thing?

Well, tecnically she already did get shoot the day before.

I think I'm going to make a quiz determining one's fate as a vanilla in the Oregonverse.

Possibilities will include :

  • seduced by Shiny Sparkle
  • berated by Arsenal
  • groped by Deathwish
  • zombified by Lightwards
  • ghoulified by Iconoclast
  • drugged into slavery by Euphoria
  • transformed into a panda
  • used as a comfort pillow by Backtrack
  • various horrible fates by a myriad of ATTD list members
  • and many more

I'll tell you if I create it.  B)

You made that shirt, so now I actually trust into you making this happen. Although, I doubt Backtrack actually would have the guts to use some random guy as a comfort pillow. :P

Underestimated mostly by itself. Others view it as a thing of the past.

I see what you did there.

Stormgate

Tier Two meteorkinesis (weather control): Very good at manipulating weather patterns in a relatively small area (say, a city) but terrible in say, a room. He does have the ability to throw and mildly control lightning, as well as control the winds enough to fly.
Karma: if anyone tries to harm him in any way, the damage is instead done to whoever did it.

Jack Renolds was a meteorologist pre-Calamity, based in Kansas. After Calamity, he joined with a company dedicated to making Epic technology. After he became an Epic, he understandably quit his job. He was collecting samples at the time in Oregon, so he decided not to destroy his old workplace, deciding instead to sell his DNA for technology. His weakness is...I'm still working on that.
BTW, he's already been ponied courtesy KoboldKing.

Hmm... we've got weather manipulators and damage reflectors, but I haven't seen them combined like this. Looks really cool!

How do his powers define "harm"? Does it mean physical damage, and if so, what's the threshold? Anything that draws blood, anything that hurts the slightest bit, any sort of physical touch he doesn't like, or something else entirely? Do his powers include psychological or emotional damage in their definition of harm?

Also, what happens if he accidentally injures himself, trips down the stris or another kind of accident?

Does he actually throw the lightning from his hands or just calls it down from the sky locally?

For his teleportation, does something simply have to be partially in shadows or in complete darkness and what about taking objects and other people with him. Is teleportation simply to him and from him or could he throw a grenade behind himself into a shadow and have it pop up somewhere else?

Am I the one that brings up the problem with the Epic tech backstory this time?

You're like parents breaking bad news to an excited child. :P

*places flowers at the grave of Xavier Griffith*

Well, I'm not the one that braught it up last time. Plus, someone has to tell the children.

But yeah, apart from the potential canon problems until at least after Calamity, there would have been quite a number of characters with Epic tech around already. for something that's supposed to be rare.

"Kids, no Epic-derived technology until after Mr. Sanderson establishes more details."

"But Twiiiiiiiiiiii!"

"No 'buts'! Now, we wouldn't want to violate the canon rarity of such items, would we?"

"No…"

"Exactly. Now, run along and revise your character."

Does this make me the RP dad?

Perhaps. One thing I know for certain, though : Kobold is definitely the semi-crazy uncle. :D

You hear that children? You're the spawn of chili sauce and... who's the mom?

I'm just going to answer questions... Damage is defined by any physical action that impares the body's ability to normally function. Emotional damage is still okay, and if he randomly trips, he gets scraped. Things he does himself actually fall into the range of his powers, but since his powers act on whoever damaged him...

He can call lightning down or shoot from his hands. His hands are way more precise, though.

With teleportation, it has to be most of the object, so that people would generally agree it is in darkness. He can theoretically teleport anything to anywhere, but either the exit or entry point being in close proximity of Stormgate greatly increases accuracy.

And I'll drop the Epic tech. At least until Calamity comes out.

Kobold is!?!

Hmmm... I must not be writing insanely and quickly enough.

So does he reflect it back on himself anyway and die or what are those ellipsies meant to imply?

Okay, so that's effectively a seperate power. To what degree can he do that and is there anything else he can project from his own body?

Don't worry, you are the completely insane uncle, a family can have more than one after all. :P

Well alright, as long as I'm still one. :P

A new WHOOC for everyone as a christmas gift. Because a dead Nighthound is the gift that keeps on giving.

Not entirely sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, however barring many other alternatives I'll go ahead and do it anyway. Another forum member and I are currently discussing getting involved here and thus are in the process of developing a pair of Epics. That being said, we need a little guidance on what's open for us to jump into and another thing that'd be super useful is the current date in the RPs so I can flesh out specifics for my backstory. Hope to hear from someone soon.

Calamity appears in 2013. 2014 is when the first Epics start developing their powers. Annexation Day is September 24th, 2015.

The current date is in September 2023. The events of Steelheart are in 2025.

Hope that helps. :)
