Chaos he/him Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 Well, I got a response from the creator of the site. He said he would link to us. Um, yay, I guess? The second response was a veiled anger-hidden-in-niceness comment about how we were making fun of the Mists of Time.
Silus - Shard of Flame he/him Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Yeaaaah. He needs to get his terms straight.
Bolle Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Well, I got a response from the creator of the site. He said he would link to us. Um, yay, I guess? The second response was a veiled anger-hidden-in-niceness comment about how we were making fun of the Mists of Time. The first one was "Whoa, there are other people on the Internet that are fans of Brandon Sanderson? Wow!" Wait, is this a request for a link? I'd better reply nicely or they'll think I'm a bonehead. The second one was "Oh, thanks, instead of pointing out that particular screwup, they poked fun at it. Ok, I'll fix it. Wonder what they're all laughing about ... oh. Well, ok." It wasn't "niceness veiling a inner core of anger," that's ridiculous. Oh, speaking of ridiculous With that site in particular, I was trying to work out that "yii framework." It's a php framework someone asked me to take a look at. I had just been reading about the *cough* new Mists of Time book and thought a little site would make sense. As it turns out, that site doesn't really use the yii framework very well. Not much database access and my templates are more monolithic than a real test would have been. You'll probably see it change as I try some other things. "Mists of Time" was pretty funny though. You just wait until the movie. It'll be in 4-D.

Well, it's good to see it wasn't as we had assumed, a quick attempt to garner page-hits and ad-views, and is instead an actual attempt at a new Brandon fan site! Welcome to the 17th shard! We're brandon's official (general) fansite, but we have some relatively good ties to other fan sites. Stick around and you're likely to learn a lot about the new alloy of law, as well as mists of time! (i kid, obviously) Good luck with your site, and feel free to stick around and garner advice, we have a pretty good set of people around here who are always willing to give advice, if not a helping hand if you need it.
Zas678 he/him Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Glad to see that it's not a computer. And welcome to 17th shard! Where we like all mists, timely or no.

I know a few people that, when offended, they could say nice things in a way that's "oh, you're so polite!" when they are just saying you were rude. Yay for Brandon fans being intelligent, cool, and funny people!
Joe ST he/him Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 hehhe, epic.... and I'm sure it already linked here lol
Silus - Shard of Flame he/him Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 And a person appears out of the ether! Dang! I wasn't trying to be mean, honest! I can tell you have quite the future here, a whole topic talking about you before you even knew this place was even here! I expect great things from you, terrible but great. This is kinda awkward, lawlhey.
