I was so excited to see this come from Brandon's Twitter.

And you get to see a good portion of the Chapters on the left and his Chronological list of books on the right(he has always maintained that Elantris was his first book published but his sixth book written).  I am always fascinated by the order in which he writes things...gives you such a sense of amazement at how much he writes in such a short period of time.  Consider that he published Elantris, just eight years ago.  So excited :)

So of the first 18 chapters of the book we get 1 Adolin, 2 Dalinar, 6 Kaladin, 9 Shallan( I believe the very bottom one is a Shallan chapter). I really think we wont be seeing a lot from Dalinar's POV in this one, which makes me sad. We also learned that  Eshonai is only a Interlude POV. Very intersting.

Five bucks says at the end of the chapter titled "Kaladin 1-2 first half" Amaram comes to the Shattered Plains and Kaladin sees him.

Edit: The 32th book is called Firefight. Anyone know what that is about?

i think its alot of Kaladin =( - but we should remember there is the most change to come.

and keep in mind, all thouse ppl are at the same place.

Kaladin is guarding dalinars family/extended. which includes more or less all pov characters we know from the first book, except Szeth.

The book still seems to revolve a lot around Shallan and Kaladin. I know this was expected but still I had hoped to see a lot more of Eshonai and Jasnah. The problem is that a lot of the important  characters are all at (or soon will be at) the Shattered plains - Kaladin, Shallan, Jasnah, Dalinar, Adolin, Szeth, Eshonai. This makes me think that unlike tWoK this book is going to be more about advancing the plot line than world-building (world-building is difficult if all characters are in the same place). But of course its possible that worldbuilding all happens in the flashback scenes.

I can't wait to get my hands on the book!

Well, the only thing we can say is that there will be no new main character, or at least that character won't have  apow in the first half of the book.

I think it is a deliberate effort on Brandon's part to keep the number of characters and plotlines under control. I'm sure he said somewhere that was a weakness in the wheel of time that he's trying to avoid.

Meh, if he keeps the same structure as he did in TWoK, we haven't even got half of the chapters seen. Navani didn't come in until late in TWoK. Jasnah's got a POV and Eshonai is going to be one of the flashback ten, so those are two pretty major developments.

What interests me more is the fact that there are four stories in the first interlude, a break from TWoK.

The way I see the outline for WoR is that there has to be a level of transition from one book to the next.  With so much story, in TWoK, of Kaladin plus a few cliffhangers, it's only reasonable to want to slowly work your way in to the new book with a healthy mix of Kaladin's story and then Shallan's story, slowly intertwining the rest of the book with the other POV's in the same way that TWoK's did.

If anything, for me, I was actually quite happy to see it this way because it can be difficult to just start with Shallan and nothing but Shallan for an overwhelmingly large portion of the first part of the book.  I think it's just fair to the reader to continue telling the whole story, but in a way that allows for the transition to Shallan's POV to be less "invasive" to the reader.

This is generally what I was expecting actually.  For all that Way of Kings is considerd to be about Kaladin's journey to Radiant status I felt he only made up about 40% of the book.  Dalinar/Shallan made up another 50% and everyone else made up around 10%.
