Voidus Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 And it was highly entertaining. Again, words of wisdom. I'd ask you guys if you think something similair to the MGSV iDroid would fit into the Reckonerverse but I don't think any of you know what it is. Not until a quick google revealed it If someone managed to get enough of the Adventurers DNA it would be possible, they did already have holographic projectors at the Reckoners base in Newcago though I don't know how portable it is.

It's a rather interesting way to integrate the elements of a mini map into a game. What I was thinking of was maybe some kind of conected visors, so if one member of a squad has visuals on an enemy they can send it to the others, so they know where that one is, even for example through walls.

I'd say something like that is definitely within the realms of possibility if Twi approves it.

I'd shy away from making it run on a motivator until we get more info on exactly how they work, but it doesn't seem like something non-motivatorish would be outside the realm of possibility.

Yeah we're pretty much able to do that with commercially available technology now I think it's safe to say that given what we've seen from mobiles and such that the Reckonerverse tech level should be high enough to have things like this.

Funnily enough, I think that as much as we worry about some of the details of epicness the Scifi elements of the vers are even less defined.

Well given that the biggest concern of the Epicness right now is how motivators work that's definitely a good point Luckily we don't get into scifi elements as much and I doubt there'll be any reveals that specifically break canon once Calamity comes out.

That and Epic children really. Actually everyone was a cyborg all along!
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 What? That's it? We don't learn why this hole was important or why this pug was the only pug in the world who could dig it? Nothing about Pugdemort, who tried to stop this pug every step of the way? What's the end of the story? I have to knoooooowwwww! 4

Quiver he/him Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 A secret society of hole-digging Pugs?
Blackhoof Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 On the topic of technology, there also seems to be a distinction between tech that needs a motivator and is basically a copy of the Epic's powers, and tech made from studying Epics. David mentioned that lots of tech advances were made in the first year of Epics, seemingly from capturing and studying them. Gravatonics was one of these i think.

And Motivators apparently have some kind of interference with Epic powers wheras Gravitonics and the mobiles don't seem to have that problkem. 1
Voidus Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Voidus, why don't we both make one and they work together? If you don't want that, I won't complain if you write a character similar. Works for me, should they be a couple? Family? Or just friends who both have a thing for sticking needles into Epics?

Yeah, the setting seems to range from futuristig battle suits/tanks (I wonder if they have Battle/Metal Gears ) and holgraphic projector to plain wasteland, depending on where one is.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 A couple, I think. Unless you want any other way? Must...not...post....Backstreet Boys....music video "I Want It That Way"....

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Must... not... look... this... up... Wait. I failed. Now it will be in your head forever. (Seriously, it's been in my head since I first heard it in the 90s. )
