This is what I imagine will happen when Sam and Altermind meet again in Thoughttown. Ugh,bleh. Ew. Just thinking of that is awful. But hilarious. She'd drive him nuts, but she's smart enough that he sees her user, and oh Calamity, am I justifying this to myself? I like that headcanon. In the same vein, if someone were to closely examine a wooden table that Altermind illusioned, would their mind fill in grains in the wood even if AM didn't deliberately add them in? I was thinking that their mind would fill in the table that he is thinking of and their mind would just scan over details, if that makes sense. I'm pretty sure he's demonstrated the ability to cause illusions of pain, so at the very least he should be able to cause enough pain to make people black out. Or overload the pleasure centers of their brain to essentially neutralize them. I can't remember the number, but I think he can only make 1 or 2 touch illusions at once, so while powerful, it isn't a huge effect except in one on one. And the more of other illusions he has makes it harder. More seriously, for Altermind to have reigned supreme in Portland for so long I think he'd need to have had a trump card against rival Epics. The ability to trigger this level of pain can be thwarted by a clever player, but still makes him pretty powerful. Personally, this is the sort of one-hit KO that I find pretty fun to try to get around, as opposed to one that requires nerfing. Is this what Edge feels like in Astoria? He would use it when necessary, but not often, correct. Again, depends on where the pain level lies. I'm not against the idea of making them feel pain, afterall, only reacting to Kobold's "make them black out" comment. With enough pain it is completely possible to to drown out someone's mind that they simply can't think about any of these option or overpower Nighthound being used to pain. Just a matter of scale. There is afterall a difference of making him powerful and dropping the mental equivalent of the Metal right into Portland. (By the way, to come back on Altermind not needing a specific target, see TT HQ, it is possible that he could affect Neverthere over her projection, at least partially.) ...Also, why are we having this discussion without Maiiliw? Oh and while we are talking about his characters, are we going to do anything about War Smasher concerning Incorporeals needing to fly, because they can't touch the ground? Like him only keeping the soles of his feet solid. He needs a specific area or target. He'd have to know where Neverthere was. I think just a gentle levitation, but not actual flying. That sounds awesome Sidenote, Sidestep is also the name of an Epic from the MEE who's still alive so that might get a bit confusing. In the arena.

You agreed to the terms when I set them out in the very first PM, and no offense, but you're acting like Funtimes killed him apropos of nothing, without warning or knowledge of what was going to happen. And honestly, while her actions were horrible, they weren't exactly atypical of an Epic of her power level.

I know i have another comic I'm working on but I had to get this version of the Autumn option done before your pesky canon could interfere. Is this what Edge feels like in Astoria? He needs a specific area or target. He'd have to know where Neverthere was. I'm actually borderline ashamed for Mary and the Metal now that they have become actual characters. I'm of the opinion that Epics can come to enjoy what they do under the corruption and seek out more ways to be evil (Nighthound, Fortuity, Regalia, Timeport) but many of them don't really have a choice. That doesn't make the things they do under the corruption any less awful, but it does create some extenuating circumstances for their crimes.
