Who wants to play Superman?

Kobold?

Is it a Stormfather? Is it a Dragon? No it's a God Beyond!

Gaining Rep faster than a Brandon Sanderson.

I'd personally consider it much less moral and righteous to not kill Zod once it became apparent he couldn't be stopped or persuaded to cease his declared genocidal campaign against humanity.

I still say that moment needed more consideration than it got. In the moment, it was handled fairly well—but then not two scenes later, he's exchanging quips with the US military. Having a no-kill hero like Superman break his rule should have been THE moment, the one that haunts him forever, not just a scene that devastates him when it happens and is quickly forgotten. It had so much potential, but it just happened and was over. I'm not against the scene in principle, but I think it was played wrong.

How about Lex?

How about Lex?

If only we had a creative leader of a dark scientific organisation around...

(Alternatively Edge, if he can RP Nighthound then acting as someone who's evil is only at Lex's level should be a walk in the park)

To be fair, this is a dark Superman that never had a no killing rule. You know, nothing to angst about if you never were a person that is against killing.

Then we also need our Batman.

By the way Twi, did you start that pug found?

I did, but I'm waiting on Chaos to see if posting a link in General Discussions is against the rules. I read the site rules three times and didn't see anything forbidding it, but I still want to be sure.

Joe's Batman, Twi is of course the strong female suprehero we all know she loves so much... Wonder Woman. :P

Could we get a PM link in the meantime?

I feel like you'd make a good Scarecrow, you wouldn't even need drugs to make people face their worst fear, just read them a scene from Nighthounds POV.

(Incidentally as one of my favourite villains of all time there's no higher praise I can give)

I suppose Joe could be Daredevil instead, though I feel like the characters still been tainted by that movie.

Did you see the Netflix show? I only got to watch the first episode so far, but I liked it a lot. Very dark though.

I'm a couple of episodes in but I got distracted when classes started back up. Now I'm trying to get my brain to stop having a seizure every time I try to end a statement in this new language we're doing this semester.

But it has been good, on it's way to redeeming him.

I agree, it needed to be a more powerful moment.

On top of that, the movie just wasn't very good in general.

But I do find the no-killing rule that many heroes have to be taken too far sometimes. I think heroes like that are great symbols, but a strong, blanket "no-killing" is wrong when it gets too far.

Like Batman never killing the Joker despite him continuously escaping and causing mayhem every time.

It seems... almost cowardly to me, the idea that a hero has that moral principle so strong that they would rather imprison a villain who has escaped over and over and will keep escaping and killing more and more people, just to maintain their own sense of morality. They seem.... weaker to me than a hero that breaks their rule when completely necessary and chooses to deal with the emotional and personal fallout from doing so.

I don't know, just some thoughts.

The whole no killing rule has an intersesting origin with the code of comics, which essentially censored comics to keep their "violent" nature from "corrupting" the youth. Before that? Superman would shoot at criminlas and catch the bullet out of the air just for giggles and Batman had no problem with using guns or killing in general. It just kinda sticked (probably because inventing good new villains would have been to much work otherwise. )

...Is it just me, or does that sound like a game a particularly self-righteous Epic would like to play?

That is exactly the sort of game any Epic who likes to have fun with both guns and their victims would play O.o

They'd line some people up, tell them he'll kill X of them and then randomly shoot at them and sometimes catch the bullet. Kind of like Epic russian roulette.

By the way, does anyone remember how Kobold adopted Shiny Sparkle? I imagine this would be the kind of trouble he would have to deal with when raising her.

For reference the song is "Everybody shut up!" from Ninja Sex Party and I thought about putting this picture on Shiny's psp but couldn't make it look good.

 It seems that someone decided to go to... radical parenting methods. :P

I HAVE A COPY OF THE STRONG-WILLED CHILD BY JAMES DOBSON AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO USE IT

I HAVEN'T READ IT BUT I'M NOT AFRAID TO THROW IT AT SHINY'S HEAD NEXT TIME SHE MOLESTS THE NEIGHBOR'S DAUGHTER.

Hey, woah now. I…I know Shiny needs boundaries, but do we really need parenting advice from another Epic to keep her in line?

I have an odd desire to RP as one of my Epics who shapeshifted into a turtle and promptly forgot how to turn back. So if a random turtle appears somewhere in the near future you know why... because I'm insane.
