Still gives you some freakish skills of pre-emption.

Yeah, you can fully appreciate your face getting beat in :P

Marsh stepped forward, and Sazed coughed, trying to get his bruised body to move. He worried that he'd rebroken his arm. He tapped zinc again, speeding up his thoughts, but that didn't help his body move. He could only watch—more fully aware of his predicament and unable to do a thing to stop it—as Marsh picked up the discarded bracer and raised it in a claw-like grip, intending to smash it down into Sazed's face.

At that point Sazed was already injured, while they'll be fresh out of the... wherever Skaa crews hang out :P

And don't forget: there's ten of them dude!  They wouldn't have to appreciate their own face getting bashed if they have nine others to back them up.

My take on Sherlock:

[5P] Sherlock Holmes: A Coppercloud Archivist/Copper Compounder Twinborn- a Mnemonic. He's able to read every book and newspaper that could be relevent to investigative work and later recall every detail perfectly. Compounding Copper would make every memory extremely vivid, which would in turn make Sherlock a master deductionist. Also, the Allomantic side of Copper would make him immune to emotional Allomancy, rendering him manipulation-proof.

[5P] Doctor John Watson: A Leecher Spinner/Chromium Compounder Twinborn- a Weaver. This is where it gets interesting. Being able to Leech Allomancers would help Watson protect Sherlock, but that's just a bonus; if Sherlock is poisoned, Watson would be able to purify his system by Leeching him. Of course, the real aid Watson will provide is by compounding luck, making finding leads and clues extremely easy.

And the contra:

[5P] Professor James Moriarty: An Oracle Pinnacle/Electrum Compounder Twinborn- an Erratic. I imagine being in a constant state of mania and having inhumane determination would make Moriarty be just like the one in the series Sherlock. A bit unstable, a tad mad, but always clear on his goals.

[5P] Bodyguard: A Pewterarm Brute/Pewter Compounder Twinborn- a Juggernaut. Not much to say here, except that compounding Pewter would make one basically a Hulk.

I absolutely love this :D Scadrial is an absolutely beautiful setting for Sherlock, in both Empire time and AoL. I'd do it a bit differently though

Team Sherlock

An archivist totally works for Sherlock, you're right. An alternative I can think of is a Twinborn tineye savant and zinc ferring. In the original books, he was addicted to opium and whatever drugs he could get his hands on. He'd say that he couldn't function properly without it, a lot like Spook. He could also use it to focus on little details the size of a pinprick. He'd have a zincmind to store up mental speed, to make deductions in a second and show off. Also at times he'd stay completely still for days without talking, or sit in a drugged-up haze trying to solve a problem. This could be him storing up his mental speed to show off later in quick bursts.

However, something like a Pewterarm, a coinshot or a Skimmer (stores physical weight) could help him a lot when he falls over cliffs and Hospital roofs.

Watson being a chromium compounder just feels too easy. If he compounded luck, he could catch criminals by guessing correctly out of a crowd of people, and that's the opposite of what Sherlock is about. As a Doctor, I would have to make him a Soother. This could add a lot to the character development; Watson could ease the pain of others, but not his own pain (Replace Afghanistan with being a former soldier for the Lord Ruler, killing Skaa in an attempted uprising). Also, Sherlock could rely on him to soothe the pains of his drug addiction.

I'll make him a twinborn for the sake of it, but I can't think of a feruchemical power that would suit him best. Storing up determination (and tapping it to have the strength to deal with Sherlock when he's around) could help him, and so could normally storing luck.

Another idea that I quite like is Watson also being an archivist, as the novels are from his perspective looking back years later, reminiscing about Sherlock.

Seeing as they're both 3P each, I'll add in Inspector Lestrade as a Seeker and electrum ferring. I think storing determination would explain how sometimes he's a very determined cop and sometimes it's just #not his division

That leaves 1P for Mrs Hudson, the resident Smoker of 221B.

Team Moriarty

Your idea for Moriarty is absolutely brilliant, I seriously love it :D

Another setup for Moriarty that could work pretty well is a Bronze compounder. He could use it to be constantly seeking for Sherlock, and compounding it would give him an overload of wakefulness. It would drive him insane, seeking his ultimate enemy all day and night. Also it would give him extraordinarily clear thinking, which complements nicely with Sherlock. (both intelligent, quick thinking men, but one is entirely mad and one's an addict)

Moriarty's closest companion is Sebastian Moran. He's not in the BBC remake with Cumberbatch (however fans theorise that he's Jim's gay lover, and the owner of all those sniper dots in the Swimming pool) but he is in the RDJ film, A game of Shadows. He's the greatest sniper in the world, and for that reason I would make him a Tin compounder. He would rival Sherlock in the spotting-tiny-details department, and can see the smallest actions his opponents make from a considerable distance.

Also you mentioned the hulk; that gives me another idea.

The Avengers

The Hulk - Pewter compounder

Iron man's abilities are more suited to being a Steel compounder. He could wear a large steelmind over most of his body and still run super fast, practically fly, and Push enemies away.

Thor's abilities make him a perfect Iron compunder. The ironmind can let him be heavy enough to never get pushed away, pull on buildings when he needs to fly, and pull that huge hammer towards him.

Captain America - ignoring that he should probably have pewter or some other physical abilities, an Electrum compounder.

Then we have Hawkeye as a tineye

Black Widow should be a twinborn Rioter, for getting people to spill the beans in interrogations, and steelrunner, for all that agility.

that brings the Avengers up to 19 points. I did always think they were overpowered.

You could save a lot of points by cutting the Hulk down to the only compounder. He's the only one that really needs it.

Though my vision of Iron man is probably a rioter with a spike rammed through his chest, granting him feruchemic zinc (and therefore compounding) at the cost of some sanity. The suit is still just his (alluminum alloy) invention.

It had to happen eventually...
MMO XP Party:
Tank (iron/gold) - Focuses on his shotgun and a long barrel pistol with rounds designed around the bunker-buster concept of splattering -after- the first centimeter of penetration, resulting in a decent lurch anchor.
Rogue (tin/duralumin) - close combat specialist. In addition to the scout/infiltration skill set, he stores as much connection as possible just before delivering the kill blow, making for a cold assassin without needing to be a total sociopath.
Back line nuker: Wax
Support: a Soother or Rioter (they're usually designed around a shallow gimmick with few alternate options anyway)

Sorry to be dense but... I don't get it.

3 of the stronger mistings but with really good luck? Or is there some very obvious supercombo I'm missing?

They better not all store while standing in the same room...

Nah, since luck is only applicable to you, so long as the others are watching, not storing it, they worst they can do is stub their toe if they work things out carefully.

A thug and a coinshot mixed with a slider are a very powerful combination. Add triple luck to the mix, and they get several times more dangerous. Not as cool as my shock troops, but still cool.

-A Tin/Pewter Twinborn- I can just picture this beefy gangster type dude walking down the street carrying a couple of machine guns

-A Pewter/Tin Twinborn- Almost the same as above

-A Steel Ferring-messenger

-An Iron Misting-backup combat Lurcher

-A Steel Misting-backup combat Coinshot

-A Bendalloy Misting-to speed up their time, duh, giving them time to think

Crew: A detective squad, sent on missions to topple crime syndicates, capture their leaders, etc.

 Steps:

Stalker uses info their given to find part of syndicate, find an entrance, and inform connector.

Connector gets into syndicate, uses his connection to become really close with boss. Convince him to negotiate with another "crime leader"(actually a trap, with the Supersoldier pretending to be the crime leader)

Leader steeljumps into battle, disarming the bodyguards

Supersoldier attacks bodyguards, neutralizes them.

Stalker, with a bow, helps supersoldier

When all the guards are neutralized, Supersoldier ties up boss, and delivers him to the Lawmen.

3p: Pewter Misting, Gold Ferring: Supersoldier: fighter of the group.

3p: Tin Misting, Copper ferring: Stalker: Tracks and locates targets, finds their weaknesses, learns everything about them for Leader.

3p: Steel misting, Zinc ferring: Leader of the group, can use info from Hunter fast, and make snap decisions, also, slowmo from tapping zinc would make blocking/deflecting bullets easy. Can get to wherever he needs to be and give chase fast

1p: Duralumin Ferring: Connecter: Can be the inside man. Connect with target, become trusted, and betray him at the last moment after getting as much info as possible and getting it to copper ferring.

Random, disconnected ideas

Zinc/Duralumin: The perfect informant.

Cadmium/Nicrosil: A one-use landmine. Get next to them, wind up a few hundred years in the future.

Nicrosil/Nicrosil: Harmony help us...

Electrum/Zinc: Modern Atium

All right that last line got me to laugh out loud.

An underground exploration and thieving crew - the Treasure Hunters

Canary - for preliminary exploring

3p - an Electrum/Cadmium twinborn. Burning Electrum lets him sidestep traps and warn team mates beforehand, not to mention the combat advantages. Cadmium is for surviving in low-oxygen environments.

Carries glass daggers and a pistol.

Lightning

3p - Pewter/Zinc twinborn

For when you run into another crew, you need a fighter that's stronger, tougher, and has time to carefully think about everything he's doing. As stated earlier, zinc ferrings are good enough fighters even without any extra strength. Also good for carrying all the loot

Carries a duelling cane and glass daggers

Horseshoe

3p - Iron/Chromium twinborn

Someone who can see the location of any metallic treasure, not to mention the luck to find all the best stuff. Good in a fight too, as he can Pull out of the enemy's hands. Especially good for fighting in caves, using metal deposits all around as anchors.

I imagine this being someone like Mal from Firefly, always unlucky and getting the gang into barfights when he's storing up luck for a job.

I can't decide who to give the last point to, however. I'm thinking a feruchemist storing either Identity or Connection, to work as the con artist and informant. If I had more points spare, I'd give this last person an extra allomantic power, either so he gets hired onto rival teams or works as an inside man for rich houses.

EDIT: A Seeker or Coppercloud would work, but my favourite choice for this character must be a Nicroburster.

The only metal the team carries, (besides the loot) is one small pistol for the Canary and a few horseshoes and a chestplate for Horseshoe. Not only for rival allomancers, but you don't want huge guns in confined tunnels where the bullets ricochet and the roof might come crashing down.

The ultimate Assassin team

Combinations are key here:

1)(1p) Ascender - simple Lurcher, a bit on the heavy side. Carries the Sniper places

2) (3p) Sniper - Smoker / Windwhisper, carries a large bow. Very light.

3) (3p) KO - a Steelrunner / Thug, whose sole job is storing enough speed to kill hard enemies in fractions of seconds (i.e. Mistborn, Compounders, Steel Inquisitors)

4)(1p) MasterMind - Sparker / Soother.

The Ascender and Sniper work in conjunction, allowed a silenced team to capable of Assassination from anywhere. The MasterMind plots the plan, as well as use his soothing to smooth any possible wrinkle. And the KO takes care of retribution.

1 Nicroburst - boost the team, mess with other mistings/mistborns, normall reasoning.

3 - Skimmer/Coinshot - weighing a ton and using a nicroboost, kill people with their own guns, not even bullets, their guns.

1 - Soother - Soothers are always good to have.  With a Nicroboost they could also control Koloss that are still in the world, and other spiked things really.  Make people not want to fight us at all.

3 - Steelrunner/thug - Pewter Savant, always burning pewter, storing speed almost all the time, being able to store speed while moving at normal speed at all times is kind of great.  He would usually store enough to be slightly slower than normal even with his pewter speed boost.

1 - Seeker - With nicroboost could even most likely pierce copper clouds.

1- Copper Cloud - Copper clouds are good to have, especially since the thug will be burning at all times. haha. Unfortunately, this with a nicroboost doesn't really seem to do much. haha.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure that is how you become a koloss.  I think you join a Koloss group and get spiked as a right of passage joining their group. This is obviously different from being Koloss blooded which is when a Koloss mates with someone.

I don't know about a full Koloss being controled or not, but I'm pretty sure they are still created by being spiked, though now it is voluntary i think.
