Question about Hoid theories

Okay so I just finished the first three Mistborn books. Shortly after finished reading I started reading stuff online and I came across the name Hoid several times. I did not want to spoil to much cause right away I saw that Hoid makes appearances in all of the books that take place in the Cosmere. So I focused only on his appearance in the Mistborn books. What I want to ask is how did people notice Hoid in the Mistborn books. I know the first book he is named as a informant by Kelsier but in Well of Ascension how did anyone come to the conclusion that the Terrace refugee leader was Hoid or the footprints at the Well? Did Sanderson tell everyone after speculations or did I miss some kind of hint when reading that he was the Terrace refugee leader? I have the same question with Hoid as the informant in Fadrax city during the HoA.

Now I know Hoid is a world jumper from the little I strayed away from his Mistborn section and without to many spoilers could someone  tell me if any of this explained in Sandersons books on how he does this or why?

If you get into the cosmere and start reading the storm light archive it becomes clear how he can world jump you just have to look hard enough. Also if you are planning to read the storm light archive I recommend reading Elantris and Warbreaker before reading the series for the whole cosmere experience.

Sanderson did say that Hoid was the Terris refugee and also in an alternate ending of Well of Ascension there was a footprint most likely by Hoid and that he has a Lerasium bead, the bead that made Elend into a mist born.

Vin already knew the names of the informants in HoA I believe but I could be wrong. I know he was whistling and wearing his signature black outfit, which are signs that its Hoid.

As of 2009, there were some theories about who Hoid was in Well of Ascension. He had been namedropped in Elantris, Warbreaker, and The Final Empire, and people either assumed that he would be in WoA, or Brandon specifically said so. At that point, as I said above, there were several theories as to Hoid's location in WoA.

This question from Zas678 on Theoryland is the first time I can find it mentioned, although Kurkistan may be able to help out more.

It was later confirmed by Brandon, two years later.

Yeah I actually just went and bought Elantris and Warbreaker yesterday because I wanted to read them before the Storm Light Archives.  Thanks for answering my question so quick!

No I have not read Alloy of Law I saw that it was placed 300 years in the future on the whole Cosmere scope. I wanted to try and start on his earlier works even if there on separate planets to get an understand of the story behind the story as I went. I do plan on reading them especially with how much I loved the magic system of Allomancy. I am also a stickler for order so when I learned that there was a vague timeline with the books I decided I wanted to follow it even if the timeline does not effect any of the stories directly.

Alloy of law is one of my favorites

I wonder if we could ask sanderson to pay us a percentage of his earnings for all the advertising we're doing for him...

Alloy of law is one of my favorites it's only about 300 pages and it is just a fun read. Also do you know of mistborn series being a trilogy of trilogys

Yeah I heard that alloy of law was gonna have 3 more books in its series, then there is going to be another Mistbourn trilogy set in 1980's style future.

And the final one will connect all the cosmere books together with Hoid being a main character in that trilogy.

Alloy of Law is a side project that started out as a short story to stand alone to series but it isn't one of the main three trilogies.

Alloy of Law was a writing exercise that accidentally became a book.

Shadows of Self was its sequel, but in taking a break to write something else he wrote another warmup exercise to get back into the mood and then realized he wound up finishing Bands of Mourning, the sequel of Shadows of Self.

That fact about Mistborn had always amused me.
