Kobold King he/him
To be fair, it's not difficult to advance when the game's standards are relatively low. ...which makes Backtrack's loss all the more pathetic. Yeah, I could almost count all the characters who haven't murdered anyone on one hand. Just a reminder to everyone: Brandon Sanderson is still answering AMA questions. There's still time to sneak a few questions from the FUNTIMES list in. (I asked how many years after Calamity was Oregon destroyed, but I haven't gotten an answer back yet.) After he either didn't notice or ignored my last FUNTIMES question, I've decided I'm fated to have bad luck with this AMA. Good question, though. Blackhoof
@Coma: in regards to eventually freeing Converter, I think it will have to be Insight who does it. Iconoclast couldn't get through those defenses even if he tried, and Phoenix is being watched to closely to I think. I also think Converter would just freeze. She was only immune to the cold while she had energy heating her up, and she will bleed it all soonish, since she can't hold energy for long. Comatose he/him
That's fine with me. Glad Rainmaker did a 'good' job. Her general logic is, 'I'll just dump a bunch of stuff on this and trust it to hold', so I'm sure in the future she'll run into trouble.
RandomRevival he/him
Question 13 already! That's good luck. Wait a minute.... 13 is a number of bad luck. If you switch up the 1 and 3 you get 31.... 31+13= 44. 44 has 2 4's. 2 4's can be translated into 24. There are 24 hours in a day. 24 if flipped is 42. 44-42=2. And if we go back to our original number, 13, and multiply It by 2, we get 26. HOWEVER, its been proven that 26 is an overrated number, so if we instead separate 13 into 1 and 3, multiply those by 2 and then add up the results, we find that 1x2=2 + 2x3=6 so we get a six. How much letters does Oregon have? 6. 6 fracking letters. Conclusion= This will be the question in wich Oregon will fall!!!!! EDIT: I myself still don't understand the whole "Oregon will fall when the question is asked" thing. Edgedancer he/him
How about we throw a "henchman with the smallest spine" contest for Backtrack to win. Oh and I know it's a bit late but if you remember the discussion about action scenes that are having their time turned back? I just remembered this couple of chapters http://bato.to/read/_/138318/jojos-bizarre-adventure-part-7-steel-ball-run_v87_ch33_by_stardust-crusaders

Voidus
Also, question for the void-starer all knowing Slowpoke god we all know: What marks the end of a battle? The "Death" of an epic? The unability to attack any longer? There are judges sitting in (occasionally Soulcaster himself though not always) who can call the match if it looks like someones completely unable to fight back but generally it's to the death. Judges usually won't stop a match unless it's both obvious who's won and it's getting boring, like say if Lucentia immediately captured her opponent in diamond but then proceeded to just monologue for an hour about how great she is. Edgedancer he/him
What else needs to happen in the Dalles before the next day?Definitely Vondra scolding Shiny Sparkle and Arsenal reacting to Reader in the clinic. Also there was something with Orange Crush and Dearhwish.I would need to reread other sections to tell if for example Backtrack and MC need another Segment or if they would be fine for a fade to Black. Tyson
Malevolence post is up in the Corvallis thread. That's both my Epic intro's done now and I'll probably leave it at 2 characters until Gunsmoke is killed off. Just for reference. Where is the Oregon "saga" in relation to the Newcago timeline. How many years before Steelhearts death? Roughly?

the winter system
Found it, may be missing some stuff 2013 A.D.: Calamity appears in the night sky. 2013 was Steelheart's publication date, and thus was selected as the year Calamity first appeared. 2014: Roughly a year later, the first Epics begin to manifest powers. Most early Epics wear masks or otherwise attempt to conceal their identities. 2014: The recently married Jeff and Marigold Carlisle join a military research facility dedicated to studying Epics. 2014: Milton Towren discovers his illusionist abilities. 2014: Thomas Cardinal discovers his necromantic abilities. 2014: Rita Blue discovers her Epic powers. 2014: Dave Elwes comes to his powers August 2015: Alexandra Hawkins discovers her space-warping abilities. 2015: Michael Jäger discovered his Epic powers, bolting from his home town shortly afterwards and taking his sister with him. September 24th, 2015: Annexation Day. Steelheart seizes control of Chicago, Illinois with the Great Transference. Nightwielder plunges the city into perpetual gloom. Date chosen as the novel's publication date. If anyone knows the actual date in canon, don't hesitate to let me know. 2015: U.S. government passes the Capitulation Act, declaring all Epics exempt from the law. By this point other Epic despots are believed to have seized power. 2015: Three months after Michael's Epic awakening, the younger Jäger sibling awakens to her powers. 2015: The Epics SparkCloud and Hardwire wage war in Portland, Oregon, destroying the city's central power grid. 2015-2016: Altermind seizes a portion of Portland, founding the urban center of Thoughttown. 2015: Frank Ponte gains electric and flying powers and begins working with Altermind. 2015: Jonah Trumble leaves Newcago, taking the name Chicago Joe. 2016: With no evidence of Reckoner existence prior to the Capitulation Act, this is possibly the founding year of the Reckoners. February 2016: Steve Lawrence discovers his past-seeing abilities. Spring 2016: Pixie's Lantern is founded. 2016: The Capitulation act begins affecting the effective running of the Carlisle's lab. The researchers and military personell shift their base of operations to somewhere off the books to prevent reprisals. 2016: Cipher gains powers. 2016: Black Jaguar and Hawkwing gain powers. Feburary 3rd 2017: Bloody Mary discovers her blood-controlling powers. 2017: The Trattner family comes to Portland. July 2022: Energy Epic destroys the Carlisle's research facility, Purple Phoenix manifests his powers and dies for the first time, resulting in the formation of the Protector personality. Autumn 2022: The Jägers attack on Astoria. Lucentia decided she had enough of travelling hrough the country and settled there, turning a good chunk of the city around the coast into her private "diamond gardens."
