BlairJ he/him Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 (edited) With the Rithmatist tour happening, which signing will you be showing up to? I will be at the PA signing. Edited March 21, 2013 by BlairJ
Meg Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 (edited) Where can I see the tour dates? http://www.tor.com/blogs/2013/03/brandon-sanderson-rithmatist-tour Here edit: I won't be anywhere, it's far to far away. Edited March 21, 2013 by Meg
Yados Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 NYC for me. Maybe this will be less crazy than the Wheel of Time signing two years back.
Truthless he/him Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I'm planning to be at the Houston signing, if circumstances allow
BlairJ he/him Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 Sorry, I should have added the tour dates here too. Thanks for doing that, Meg!
SOM1else he/him Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 They aren't doing a BYU midnight release?!? What is this madness!!!
BlairJ he/him Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 I hate to say it....but.....FINALLY somewhere other than there.
Rubix he/him Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I hate to say it....but.....FINALLY somewhere other than there. You might hate to say it, but I'm really disappointed that there's not going to be a midnight release. :/ there's a signing day of, but it's just not the same. I wonder why they've decided to not have one.
ProfessorMLyon he/him Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I would love to go to the Omaha signing (it's the closest), but I doubt it. I think Brandon needs to come to the Kansas City area. That would be awesome!
Tamzin Ashevai she/her Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 If this date http://www.hicklebees.com/event/brandon-sanderson-may-21 isn't moved off-site (as is indicated in the http://www.tor.com/blogs/2013/03/brandon-sanderson-rithmatist-tour), I'll be there even though I currently have absolutely no idea just where 1378 Lincoln Ave. San Jose, CA actually is. Goes to Google Maps ... Ooh! I could work-out at the gym after my job ... and drive slightly south to the signing! Now, I'm planning on it! 2

I wonder why they've decided to not have one. If I had to guess, I'd say it has something to do with the fact that Sanderson is not as established a YA author as he is an adult, epic fantasy author. The NYC release signing site, Books of Wonder, might be some sort of an institution in YA/Middlegrade market (at least their website makes them look like it). According to their blog, they host a good number of industry events. Since Sanderson just bought the rights back on Alcatraz, he's going to have a lot more books in print in YA/Middlegrade market soon than he has in the last five years or so. Edit: I accidentally deleted my last paragraph where I tied everything together to say that IF it's an important bookstore in NYC as far as YA/Middlegrade goes an IF it also doesn't do midnight releases (and what with kids and stuff I'd guess that's the case) then that's probably why there is no midnight release. Just pretend I tied that together really well. Edited May 8, 2013 by Yados
little wilson she/her Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Holy crap, I just realized I might actually be able to go to one of these. The first time I saw this list, I was like, "Dang it. Not happening." But now my plans have changed and I hope to be living in Provo by June 1st. And if everything works out as I hope, I can totally make it to the June 3rd signing. Which would be awesome!
Senor Feesh Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Anyone in Denver? Apparently there're some stealth-signings with a bonus prize inside... kinda curious as to what that would be.
BlairJ he/him Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 Yeah I have been wondering what the prize was as well. I assume it is some kind of signed piece of paper. I don't know what else can hide easily in a book...
Senor Feesh Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I did consider it might be an extra Cosmere clue o.O
Otto Didact he/him Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Just got tickets for the Provo Library signing on June 3!
Yados Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 It's a live chalkling, and it's angry. Don't joke that could happen. And it would probably be made of Sharpie and then nothing could stop it.
Aethling he/him Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) I was really thinking about going to the one in New Orleans today, but the recent rash of murders down there disuaded me from that voyage. It is a shame that lots of residents of La refuse to go down there without carrying a gun with them. Still, if it had been a major release instead of the YA interstitial, it probably would have been a different story. Edited May 18, 2013 by Aethling
StormAtlas Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I think I am going to try and hit up the one in New Mexico tomorrow if I can get a chance
