Blackhoof Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I'll wait for Voidus' OK before I introduce her or anything.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 That is the least P teleportation power ever. Exactly. He uses it creatively, but the mere ability to bypass a single Epic's security measures with one jump doesn't automatically make him OP. 2
Edgedancer he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 He can only teleport 5 feet in any direction. That's not OP.And again a downvote on accident. Im terribly sorry.
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 He can only teleport 5 feet in any direction. That's not OP. Most certainly agreed. Teleportation is not OP--that's just a typical superpower. It's no more OP than pyrokinesis, or the ability to kill with a stare, or super strength, or any of the other hundreds of superpowers available in the Reckonerverse. The only time I consider a character overpowered is generally when they have an overabundance of superpowers. Like the characters who are super strong, can teleport, can blow up buldings with their minds, are invulnerable to all harm, can resurrect when killed, and can summon cheese sandwiches all in the same power set. That's a problem, as it defeats the fun of having superpowered beings duking it out on the streets when one character has practically every power in the book. It also goes against the spirit of Steelheart, in that the titular character was considered one of the most feared Epics in the state because of his abnormally high number of powers. I guess my point is, teleportation puts Timeport above the level of nearly any human in the state, but that's the point of the Reckonerverse. It still allows for interesting interactions with other Epics, and any character who makes the thread interesting is powerful but not overpowered. 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 And again a downvote on accident. Im terribly sorry. Totally fine. Quota chooses any moment for his ambushes.
mail-mi he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I can't imagine any circumstances in which Neverthere would allow that maniac anywhere near her physical location. So I hope Timeport's fine with long distance. Yep. He's pretty much going to have an incorporeal girlfriend.
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Yep. He's pretty much going to have an incorporeal girlfriend. Probably a good thing for Seth "Animals don't wear clothes" Nathsha. 2
mail-mi he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Probably a good thing for Seth "Animals don't wear clothes" Nathsha. And she's the one person he can't "accidentially" kill when she "accidentially" says something rude to him. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 And she's the one person he can't "accidentially" kill when she "accidentially" says something rude to him. On the bright side, having a jealous omniscient girlfriend will keep him from stripping and being a creeptastic slontze to any of Portland's other pretty girls... right?
mail-mi he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 On the bright side, having a jealous omniscient girlfriend will keep him from stripping and being a creeptastic slontze to any of Portland's other pretty girls... right? Yeah. Let's go with that.
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Yeah. Let's go with that. Or, we go with the original plan and kill him as soon as humanly possible.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 Or, we go with the original plan and kill him as soon as humanly possible. "Hey baby," Timeport said as a grin curved his lips. "How about we head over to your place so I can see if I want to murder you or not?" Before Neverthere could answer in the negative, Timeport died. 2

You've been running through my mind all night... screaming." "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? It'll hurt even more when I send you back." "You've been running through my mind all night... but I'm swiftly gaining on you." 3

For some reason, I now want a spurned ex of Timeport's to sing him "You Broke My Heart So I Burned Down Your Barn" (apologies for the poor video quality). 1

Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 YES! This is so perfect! (Though I do wonder who the poor kid who lost their ball is in this scenario….) Certainly better than "The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps" for Baxter Game. Uh, Backtrack? He seems like the kind to have the bad luck of losing his favorite ball behind an enormous Epic force field. 2

I can see Sam singing Larry's lines in "Monkey" to annoy Lightwards. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Does that make kitty!Koschei the nurse? I can see Sam singing Larry's lines in "Monkey" to annoy Lightwards. The moral of our story It's the point we hope we've made... If your kitty's a dead Epic Better keep that cat well paid. That would get on his nerves very fast. Which means it should definitely happen. Have you noticed that Archibald the Asparagus usually fills the same kind of role as Arsenal, as evidenced by the Water Buffalo Song? 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I' back home. I missed less than I thought I would, actually. Pretty sure there were a couple of things I wanted to talk about like Kobold dressing all our characters in stripperific outfits but for now here's about some recent stuff. That is technically true, but it would also be more uncomfortable and a bit more complicated. Having metal constantly pushing you around would get annoying and put limits on her manoeuvring that wouldn't exist if she has a straight flying ability. But if in a similar vein wouldn't that mean her set of armor would inhibit her flight? I'll be leaving for San Francisco tonight, and won't be back until Sunday afternoon. I don't know if I'll have Internet in that time period. So don't count on me being Here. Have a nice trip. Most certainly agreed. Teleportation is not OP--that's just a typical superpower. While I wouldn't call it op by any means I wouldn't call Timeport style teleportation, aka one that anihilates matter on arival, just another power, given how damnation vertsaile it is. Timeport has some serious limitations on the power and it's still quite powerful. Yep. He's pretty much going to have an incorporeal girlfriend. Is that the prelude to Nighthound acting the best man at his wedding? On another note, I'm listening to an RPG podcast and they recently started playing a superheros styled game. I've only listened to the first three episodes of worldbuilding and character creation but I thought you guys might be interested. http://majorspoilers.com/2015/02/28/critical-hit-289-welcome-modern-city/ 1

And objection: it was DC comics writers who put our characters in skimpy costumes. Though I do think it would fit Shiny Sparkle's garish way of drawing attention to herself. I'll take a look at that podcast later. Thanks for the link. 1

You just aren't home until you can write post upon post of nonesense with your friends without having to worry about callpohone typing, autocorrect and accidental upvotes. Certainly it was, now DC KK I can see a conection, what about you? To a certain extend, probably, even though not as extreme as wearing a thong and no pants otherwise. Take a good deal of time with you, they easily reach an hour in lenght. 1

Take a good deal of time with you, they easily reach an hour in lenght. I'm still worried about the possibility of Nighthound and Deathwish getting a Kong. But yeah, cellphone autocorrect is bad enough without worrying about translations. I once had my phone decide I wanted to say something about "middle chull white people" instead of "middle class white people." Shiny Sparkle strikes me as someone who values practicality to a degree, so while the thong is probably out, short shorts might not be. Yeah, I saw it got pretty long. I've started an episode of Writing Excuses on worldbuilding, since it's shorter, although I listened to the Major Spoilers guys talking about choosing a genre. Fate sounds pretty versatile. 2
