SOM1else he/him
At the end of hero of ages when saze tells spook that thier are 2 metals no one knows about shouldnt he have said 4 (Bendalloy, Cadmium, Nicrosil and Chromuim) sre atium and its alloy considered allomantic or not and should there really be 18 allomantic metals? Morderkaine he/him
When Sazed said there was still two unknown metals he was referring to the base metals, each of which also has an alloy, bringing us to 16 allomantic (and feruchemical/hemalurgic) metals. There are also two "God Metals" (Atium & Lerasium) about which very little is known. Malatium is one of an unknown number of Atium alloys (Atium+gold). That's apparently not its powers and just a side effect.

Ok that makes more sense. so when he said that there were two metals no one knew of he meant unalloyed ones and was talking about Chromium and Cadmium which each had an alloy? Is that right? It's confirmed on the post-MB3 table of Allomantic metals.
Zas678 he/him
[ in addition to this, it should be noted that lerasium (the metal that turned elend into a mistborn) apparently has other properties than making someone mistborn. That's apparently not its powers and just a side effect. I think what Brandon meant was that what Lerasium really does is have you 'channel' more of Preservation, and that causes you to become Mistborn. So the mistborness of it all is a side effect, and the connection to Preservation is what it actually does. I think.

So the mistborness of it all is a side effect, and the connection to Preservation is what it actually does. I think. this actually makes a lot of sense, allomancy existed before the assencion but not as powerfull because preservation had put a bit of himself into humanity, the lord ruler gave out the lerasium during his assencion and humanity had more of preservation in them. I wonder what would happen if someone who was allready a post-assencion mistborn burned lerasium, would they become a more powerful allomancer or would they get a higher level of power? (like being able to burn the mists like vin or somthing else similar)
Morderkaine he/him
IIRC If an Allomancer burns Lerasium the power granted by the Lerasium is added on to whatever power they already have.
Ipood he/him
But, what if the Lord Ruler burnt them all himself? He who'd have had awesome power, even more than he had.
Zas678 he/him
I'd imagine that it would probably make TLR have the amount of power that mist-Vin has. But he would have to be constantly swallowing metals in order to make it work. Maybe it would make TLR turn into Preservation. Maybe that was the point of the beads- to help find a new Shardholder. I mean if TLR was the only one who had Lerasium, and he never had any kids, maybe Vin would've never have been a Mistborn and would've never burned the mists. Or maybe the mists would've snapped her and she would've found her way eventually to the Well.
Stormlightning she/her
Is bendalloy a change from the term cerrobend used earlier? or are they the same metal?
Silus - Shard of Flame he/him
It's the same metal, but apparently cerrobend is a copyrighted term, so they changed it to bendalloy instead.
