Who thinks I should do my science homework?

The more science you understand, the better you will be able to create Epics that break specific laws of physics. ;)

Should I make another icon? This is one I made like.. last summer. I feel like I should at least have a Cosmere related one.

And Edgedancer created Nighthound. Ergo, I shouldn't do my science homework. Whatever Ergo means.

-_-

You can say a lot about Aldnoah Zero but it taught me the value of physics in fighting with superpowers. :P

I dunno, your current one looks nice. Of course you could wait until we ponyfi your character.

By the way, do you want more details on the settings?

Posted

Ponyfi.. no

Just kidding, that would be great actually. I might not wear it for my icon but I will keep it forever and have it saved on my computer until the end of time.

Some more setting details will be great/plot details from the rps already started.

I'll probably keep it for now, but maybe will make something else. I haven't pixeled in ages but I have commissions. Gah!

I might join Astoria or Corvallis, or both. Probably both. Hm. I need to think of a cool, unique power of sorts. Shapeshifting seems like it would be more of a High Epic power. No idea. Might use some sort of metal manipulation too, for another character.

Am I still obsessed with Mistborn

Yes I still am obsessed with Mistborn

Metal for sure.

Smoke manipulation would be interesting too. So many possibilities. So many.

Posted

So much Mistborn.

Oh yes.

I would like to probably have metal, and shapeshifting. Because I love shapeshifters. I'll probably make some normal humans too. Because I love those too.

New backstory for Converter, since the one I had didn't work out.

She still worked in a top secret military research facility, but one day she comes one day and notices she can absorb energy from the power core (maybe nuclear). She tries to take in more, and finds that she can, but feels like she has too much power inside of her. She then tries to release some, and succeed a little too well. She let out all of the power she had stored, killing the workers around her. The security guards were alerted and they tried to detain (not Tue would d I was looking for) her. She fights back, figuring out her new powers, and kills most of them. She claims the facility as her own, and has a vanilla go and get her something to drink. The vanilla comes back with a glass of water, and Converter drinks it, but the vanilla put some cleaning chemicals in it, and so Converter starts to choke, and eventually dies. When she did, her body exploded, destroying the facility. She then reforms in the middle of a fight between an epic and the police.

What are the limits on her energy absorption abilities? Because if she can absorb all the energy of a nuclear power plant and release it in one go, that could easily make her more powerful than Obliteration.

Her backstory is a tad inconsistent with how we know Epics are transformed - Calamity appears to them, and they go on a Rending, where they kill and destroy with the full extent of their powers for a few hours.

By the way, Kobold, I noticed Soulflicker and Amarok's codes are missing from the Pony Vault. If reaching 100 ponies in the Vault is still a goal of yours….

...Does Autumn know how close she, and everyone else in the clinic (save perhaps Shiny Sparkle) just came to dying?

It's a very, very good thing no one called Frostfire a hypocrite to his face. While it's plenty true, and Frostfire is aware of that to a degree, his speech was motivated in equal parts by his hopes to be accepted/not seen as a threat and his honest distaste for Reader as a person. Respect and duty were things he valued a lot before becoming an Epic, and his mind has been warped enough that in some sense he still believes his actions are in line with those values. Being called on that wouldn't have ended well for anyone.

As things are, Frostfire's going to have to get out of there as fast as possible (or in other words, before Reader can make another smart remark) if I want to avoid him going on a killing spree. (Which might be inevitable, given how I designed his character.)

Awesome, thanks! They've been dutifully added to the Vault, along with a code for Karl Marx.

If we're truly interested in ruining Backtrack's day destroying Oregon, we might as well run with this killing spree idea of yours.

What Frostfire doesn't realize is that Autumn actually has the upper hand here. It seems Reader didn't tell him how things work in The Dalles, but whenever a new Epic comes to town, he and Autumn conduct interviews to see whether or not said Epic is likely to go on a rampage. Reader often recommends a visit to the firing squad (or the lethal injection room, if said Epic can't be shot, like the momentum twins) but Autumn is the one who usually saves them. Waltzing into the clinic and giving a speech like that before acting like he's in charge is NOT a smart move for an Epic whose situation in the city is precarious at best, especially when the invading pandas put everyone on edge. If Frostfire goes after Autumn, she has the authority to send loyal Epics after him, and if he goes on a rampage, he'll have loyal Epics like Edgerunner and Deathwish to contend with.

Autumn might be fragile, but she has a lot of political sway. And she's on good terms with at least one loyal Epic. If he doesn't play his cards right, he could find his inspiring speech backfiring horribly.

Well if he went too insane then between them Elsa and MV can nullify most means of attack he has available, and Scribbler's not without her tricks for controlling Epics either.

True. Backtrack's day can never get too miserable. ...And there's always that whole, "destroy Oregon" thing, too. :P

With his weakness being what it is though, he has the potential for a really powerful redemption arc, if the right circumstances come up. I didn't really want to throw it out the window this early, but...

Very true, although it would take a lot more than just Edgerunner and Deathwish to take him down. He could give the whole Guard working together a run for their money, and even though they'd for sure put him down eventually, they probably wouldn't do so without casualties.

Speaking of, does Scribbler ever utilize Autumn's open-door policy (ie, vent about what's bothering her like Edgerunner does)?

It wouldn't just be those two; it'd be every loyal Epic they could spare. The City Guard takes threats like that very seriously, so the second he went on a rampage, or even threatened Autumn, he'd be a target. There would definitely be casualties, but this wouldn't end well for him either.

Most of this is Reader's fault for not telling him their policy on new Epics, but still. Self-righteous speech when he's a guest in town during an invasion=not his best idea.

How much does Autumn tell Vondra about what she learns from the Epics who walk in her door? Is she against divulging the personal details she learns? Vondra would definitely have asked at some point.

I think she'd let all Epics know that Vondra would learn whatever she learned. She wouldn't keep anything from him, and she'd tell him whatever he wanted to know, but she'd make sure the Epics coming through her office knew she'd answer all of Vondra's questions honestly.

Oh, I know. If he ends up going on a killing spree, he's guaranteed to die, unless he falls in with one of the other factions in opposition to the Dalles.

What isn't Reader's fault?:P Honestly though, with everything Reader does to antagonize those around him, regardless of status or power, he's a major destabilizing force within the Dalles. I would be surprised if he doesn't play some part in its eventual destruction.

No, but then again, most of his ideas since becoming an Epic haven't been his best ideas. :P Frostfire isn't unintelligent, but his impulse control/ability to filter what he does or says has been pretty severely reduced.

Vondra's more paranoid about the Epics in his service than he lets on. He strives to know as much about their lives and limitations as he can, so I imagine he regularly has Autumn come to his office to report on the psychological going-ons of the City Guard.

With that being the case, could I get either an invite to the current Scribber conversation or a copy of the info? scootangel.png
