They must have changed the date after the last time I checked :/ I usually just check IMDB or rottentomatoes in the morning to double check if something is on that night. Usually works pretty well, too, since it meant that I didn't have to wait around for Agents of SHIELD because apparently they took a week break for some weird reason.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I had one of my homemade tortillas for a snack. It was oddly shaped and a little uneven in places, but I think I'll improve my technique as I make them more. Plus, it tasted good. 3

Sunbird she/her Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 (edited) So last week I took a test about wildlife and the animal kingdom in general and didn't do so well on it... 75/100. But our professor gave us the chance to retake it (since apparently several people in our class scored in the 50s) and our final grade would be the average of the two scores, and I got my 2nd attempt back today. 96/100, which brings my average for the exam to 85.5, which I am much happier with than the 75. We had a few class periods between the time we finished learning the material and the time we actually took the test, but the first time, our professor wasn't very clear about exactly what would be on the test. Although the TA held a review session, it matched up very poorly with the actual test questions. So we took the test the first time on a Monday, and during the next class period, on Wednesday, we got them back graded and were told about the do-over opportunity. The TA said it would be literally the exact same test and that we'd be taking it the following class period, on Friday, so I looked up all the right answers and committed them to memory. I didn't score 100% on the do-over, though, because apparently the professor's correct answers didn't always line up with what Wikipedia told me. (I think he used a lot of older/outdated names for the taxonomic classifications.)

PantsForSquares he/him Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 So, uh, I somehow aced my math test? I did really well on it, which was kind of unexpected. Most other people I know also did well, which is super weird. But hey, easy grades! 6

I don't know whether to say ur lucky or smart :/ I never study for most of my tests, mainly because....their simple. And I almost always ace them. But there's one subject I always study for. Math. And I never score high. :/

As a die-hard Iron Fist fan, I don't know how to feel about the fact that you've got one of the worst Iron Fist covers as your avatar :(. Living Weapon was a complete letdown, especially compared to the awesomeness of Immortal Iron Fist.

Oversleep Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 On Sunday I told my parents that I failed the year and I'm retaking the courses. Take the Good Parents Trope... and that's my parents. The only thing close to scolding me was them telling me it was stupid of me not to tell them earlier. That I shouldn't have held it in all summer cause it made me feel cremy all the time. Good parents I have 9

Mistrunner Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 There was a football game tonight. The game itself wasn't that exciting, but band makes everything more interesting. One of the drum majors gave me a Mario hat he found in his car. That was a highlight in and of itself. One of the tuba players was wearing a Hannibal Lecter mask with his mouthpiece stuck through it, an old lady scarf, and a bonnet with a pretty bow on it (don't ask). When the other band marched over to set before taking the field, we noticed one of their sousaphone players looked exactly like him. A frenzy broke out as everyone tore off his mask, bonnet and scarf, shoved his sousaphone on his shoulder, and made him run over to the other band. Have you seen someone try to run while carrying a sousaphone? Since it's so big, you have to do this strange waddle-run. It's hilarious. Once the lookalike noticed, they started waddle-running to each other in a scene worthy of the playing of Chariots of Fire. It was the single greatest thing I've ever witnessed. Someone bought me pizza during third quarter, too, so that was cool. The team lost, and we all froze our fingers off, but as the old adage goes, "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's whether or not you meet your doppelgänger." 4

There were some shenanigans that went on in my high school marching band too. One of the music department's three band teachers (one specialist each in brass, woodwind, and percussion) retired at the end of my junior year, so for my senior year a new guy came and joined the staff to be our brass specialist. Let's call him Mr. McDonald. He was fresh out of college (our school was his first teaching job), young, funny, and SUPER enthusiastic about like everything. During football games, he would often dance while the band was playing pep tunes. And his conducting during concerts was highly entertaining to watch too. I dare say Mr. McDonald was my favorite director I've ever played under. (And with all the music classes I took between 6th-12th grade, I worked with 11 different directors including him, so that's a significant compliment.) 2
