Cats have a habit of doing that I think. Maybe they just do it to see how much you care? Or maybe its so that you realized you can't live with out them so you should definitely pamper them more... 1

I usually don't worry, but this cat almost always stays inside or just barely off our back porch. Given the prevalence of coyotes out here we were justified in fearing the worst, but not a one of us is upset about being proven wrong.

My heart would just absolutely break if one got hit by a car or killed by a coyote or one of those sadistic psychos who torture animals on Halloween. (Plus outdoor cats are like the biggest killer of songbirds in America, and I want to help the birds too.)

It was the icing on the cake of a very good weekend at Phoenix Comicon where I grabbed the Elantris map prints that they printed for the event, among a ton of other things! Life has been pretty good lately, which is a nice change of pace compared to what it was. 2

In this case, it's the study of Mormon scriptures by Mormon high schoolers, often early in the morning before school. Each year focuses on a specific scriptural text, and it takes four years to complete.

I have found found a book that covers the Spokane Police Department in depth, and doesn't gloss over graft, corruption, or WWII! The last one may seem like an odd thing to gloss over, but you'd be surprised how many police historians just say something to the effect of "yeah, it happened, and when it was over...." Equally surprising is the fact that this rather warts-and-all history is published by the department's own history book committee, giving me yet another avenue by which to pursue information. This has been a good day. 4

There's a Jesus parable about a merchant who sold everything he had in order to buy an expensive pearl. That's it. That's the story.Any way, the title alludes to that. It contains miscellany like the Book of Moses (an alleged inspired rewriting of the beginning of Genesis), the Book of Abraham (an alleged divine translation of Egyptian papyrus alleged to be writings from Abraham himself), the History of Joseph Smith, which contains the official account of his First Vision and how he ended up translating the Book of Mormon, and The Articles of Faith, a summary of Mormon beliefs written by Joseph Smith.

I think there's another half about some selfish merchant who lost the pearl into a river in the first place, but I don't remember. What was the Book of Mormon translated from? Was raised in it, did the early morning seminary, and was also a missionary. Went to some institute classes, read most of the institute manuals, Mormon Doctrine, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Articles of Faith, Jesus the Christ, the three volumes of Doctrines of Salvation, and the standard works, of course.I also watched Singles Ward once
