One of the most iconic figures in the lives of many geeks, Leonard Nimoy who played Spock in Star Trek: The Original Series passed away today in his home in Los Angeles. A wonderful actor, a wonderful human (and vulcan!) being, a wonderful friend according to those who knew him, and a wonderful honorary grandfather to all who wanted or needed him. I myself don't have a personal story to share, so I'll borrow from Captain Kirk:

Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most ... human

Most stars deaths don't make me sad, his does though...

I'm the same way, I think I'm more sad at this than I was about Robin Williams.

Me as well, my mom says that the day she got home from the hospital she had no idea what to do, so she sat me down on the couch with her and we watched TNG. Later on I got my dad's old Star Trek projector that had everyone drawn around the outside and had tons of Trek pictures. MY PARENTS MADE ME NERDS!!!! :)

It's sad to see such a cool guy pass.

Thanks Mr. Nemoy. I'm glad you were able to Live Long and Prosper.
