Unhinged he/him Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) Or the classic Lightweave a bridge over a river or canyon before fighting someone that can't fly. No, no what you do here is soulcast a bridge but leave a gaping hole in the middle, use lightweaving to cover the hole then when your enemies chase you onto the bridge you can avoid the hole but they have no idea it's there and run right into it. EDIT: if facing multiple enemies use lightweaving to make it seem like the first guy runs over the gap just fine then laugh as the rest of your foes go tumbling down into oblivion. natc Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Soulcasting air -> fire might also give a similar result. Especially with Jasnah's ranged soulcasting thing. damnation OP Soulcasters. Soulcast the air inside someone's lungs into stone/fire/water/oil/whatever to drown them. Depending how tension works (does it strengthen as well as stiffen?), maybe you could make a thread or wire stiff to aid in garrotting someone, or hang it horizontally for people to run into and break their legs or neck. Or just stiffen someone's clothes so they can't move. You're better off just soulcasting the person themselves into fire tbh :3
Smidge Posted March 28, 2015 Author Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) You're better off just soulcasting the person themselves into fire tbh :3 *Gasp* But human transmutation soulcasting is a taboo! elsecallers- teleport your enemies hundreds of feet into the air, laugh wildly, and teleport yourself back to the ground. Enjoy the following noise: aaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH *SPLAT!* Repeat as is amusing. Szeth has already done something functionally similar in lashing people into the sky. I wouldn't be surprised if Brandon actually does something similar with transportation - he pulled some fun stuff with Gateways in WOT after all. This all depends on how transportation functionally works of course, but I won't be surprised if there's some teleport cheesing towards the end of the Stormlight Archive. Voidus Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 For the bridge idea, you don't need to soulcast anything. Just make an illusion of the bridge and illusion people into thinking they're walking while falling and ect. I'd be quite surprised if Lightweaving was mental, partially because of the name but also because of when we've seen it in WoR, particularly the way Shallans illusions broke apart when touched then reformed.

natc Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 For elsecalling, you can also purposely induce the one flaw of Aonic teleportation and aim yourself to teleport them into a wall, potentially. Telefragging is fun. 2
BreathTaker he/him Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 If you want to torture someone. Well we know that Progression can bring someone back from the dead, so you could just flay them till they die, bring them back and use another method. Continue this for about 3 years and anything they know you will as well. You would also gain valuable information on what techniques are the most effective at achieving different results. E.g. What gives maximum pain in minimum time. What gives maximum pain for maximum time. You're a Bolton aren't you. "A naked man has few secrets; a flayed man, none."
SmurfAquamarineBodies he/him Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) You're a Bolton aren't you. "A naked man has few secrets; a flayed man, none." Maybe. About it being against the ideals. If Aluminum could keep a Spren out of a room then I think you could keep it a secret, so long as your emotional state doesn't change too much whilst torturing someone.
